What you wanna do to attract putter-onners from here, is proof your bets to the forum (after you're on, of course), keep it all to one thread, and once peeps see how successful you are, you'll be having to turn people away there will be so many PM'ing you!

Notwhat - sent you a PM
George - I have spreadsheets from many previous years and all the other bet placers can verify I'm genuine. Further I'm looking for placers starting this Oct and thats when i start again. I don't want people to show interest in mid Dec and be on board for mid Jan (takes a little time) as half the season will have gone. Any prospective bet placer will know in 2 weeks that I am genuine as 95% of my bets all get backed in heavily win or lose. |
By:
I'm not sure if it was racingguru or not, but someone was asking a few years ago and said he wouldn't pay you for putting on his bets, but you could benefit from his knowledge and back them yourself.
I didn't think it worth all the running around |
By:
yes that was me - I had a post here 4 years ago from which I got my first placer from here( 3 years he's been doing now), then every year thereafter I've posted. I got two new guys last year and have 2 new guys for this year and looking for 1/2 more.
By:
racingguru, do you do all your own work, or are you essentially an 'agent' for the jockeys, so they can get their bets on?
By:
Own work (own ratings developed over many many years) - never had a tip in 30 years betting that i'd considered genuine other than once when I overheard Nicky Henderson talking to an owner that he was really sweet on Alone Success for the Triumph. I haven't been to the track in donkeys years now - its all work I'm afraid.
By:
I wasn't implying they were tips. I was intrigued by your '95% of my bets all get backed in heavily win or lose' comment, made me wonder if you were one of the 'insiders', if you get my drift!
Well excuse my little 'joke' about the jockeys, and good luck with the recruiting! |
By:
I think its a fallacy that horses that shorten come from inside money. Sure sometimes its true but more often it comes from people with ratings. Some from people who have bad ratings who live in hope that a horse will somehow rekindle past glories and some from those who have good ratings and understanding of the game/trainers mind.
By:
You said your average bet is around £1000 and I was struggling to see how that would result in '95% of my bets all get backed in heavily win or lose'.
So you're saying there is a ratings mob out there who force the prices of these horse / your selections down? |
By:
Yes absolutely. Remember my bet maybe 1k and even if there are 2/3 other people with similar ratings to me, with the bet placers they'd be at least 5k going down on a selection at a similar time.

last ttt. Got some fairly interesting replies. Hope 1 or 2 pan out.

Past performance does not guarantee future results. You should not rely on any past performance as a guarantee of future investment performance
You could be running around placing bets for Racingguru and end up losing money and betting banned from all the local bookies and online |
By:
big aitch - nothing will guarantee future results, but it helps if you have years of results to back up your claims. If you are a good punter longterm it doesn't just change overnight surely.
I placed for him last year and the results were very impressive, yes of course anyone will have issues getting on due to beating sp and profit, and accounts will get shut/restricted - that is the hardest part. |

you are going to trust your money with strangers wow

bruno you could benefit from a little more exposure to humans : it's really not hard to make an accurate risk/reward assesment re 'handing money to strangers' .

to be mistrustful (frightened) of someone only on the basis that they are unknown to you is a misjudgement

tell the banks that

but banks are idiots. that is well known. I wouldn't be comforted atall by their endorsement.

i never trust anyone when it comes to money anymore with past experiences
By:
just because one person in ten, or a hundered, or a thousand, will do a runner with your money is factored in to the whole /risk/reward thing.
By:
I've had those experiences to bruno, i've got better at judging people over the years. i still get let down occasionally, which sharpens up my judgement even more

by the time I'm 100 years old I 'll be smart enough to never get ripped off
