I absolutely hate to say this because I have never sat on a horse in my life, but....Buick is an absolute coward in the saddle, he even looks like he is scared of his own shadow. The guy needs to do some self evaluation and decide whether he actuially should be rding these horses are seeking a new career.

Horse had no chance, you idiot. The horse would have won comfortably with a competent ride.

I backed him and far from convinced he would have won. As for the maiden he won being rubbish, have a look at some of the maidens he went close in last year.

why back him then if you think he's that bad , only yourself to blame ....

That's the 3rd time this year , forgave the horse the 1st 2 runs but that was poor even allowing for elsworth being out of form

He's earned over £250k p.a over the last 5 years, I don't think the self examination is going to take too long.

For anyone else, that would be very sound advice.  The difficulty is that Basil struggles to find any jockey who meets his exacting standards, so has to resort to backing jockeys he does not rate.
