Derek Robinson (born 1927) is a British trade unionist. Formerly a convenor and shop steward within British Leyland for much of the 1970s, he was commonly known as "Red Robbo" in the British press.

I did meet red Robbo. My old Pa was big in the Motor Industry back then. One day he caught wind of the other Directors of his company scheming to oust him from the MD position. He and Robbo were respectful opponents and Robbo always thought my Pa was one of the good guys. next thing we knew, Red Robbo sent his car round and picked up my Pa. He was taken to a small Chinese restaurant in Coventry where they met. First thing Robbo said to my Pa was

"as of now you are a Union member and if this f*ckers try to oust you, I will shut down the industry.

Needless to say the coup never occurred as Robbo let it be known through his channels what was going to happen. My Pa and him remained respectful combatants and then friends until Pa retired in the early 80s

Very interesting tale, Fruiterie - pity we haven't got Union leaders like Robbo nowadays. Zero Hours contracts?? Wouldn't have seen the light od day then, but today's Champagne Socialists have allowed it to happen!

The greatest achievement in recent political history is that utter cu nt Thatcher being stabbed in the back by her own, blubbing her foul fu cking eyes out, and being replaced by John 'shagged Edwina Currie, me' Major.
