@Wicklow no probs. Forgot to say, while you're there scroll down to the very bottom of the options pane; the thing on the left gives you 1 second refresh in-play (and I think for 30 mins pre-play) and the thing on the right turns off some/most of sport/competition/event pages, so when you navigate using the left hand menu, nothing reloads until you get to your new market - I like that because I never bet from the competition/event pages.
I had a go at doing the lay all thing on a couple of the races but I couldn't make it go wrong; to be fair I'm not a very fast typist! |

I remember doing some testing on it before it was released initially, which must have been almost 3 years ago I think. What you have with the new site is a site designed people who simply haven't got a clue about betting or the interface required by even casual users. I remember making about 20 recommendations at the time. The problem is that some of these were addressed and some weren't. That was 3 years ago! It simply isn't fit for purpose at the moment. The problem BF have is that it is very expensive to maintain both types of site, with fixes and improvements much more easily done on the new one. I was told at the time the old site was definitely going to disappear early in the following year. Here we are though more than two years on from that date and a 'new' site that is still utterly dreadful. The failure to actually get the 'new' site properly functional must rank as one of the biggest disasters BF has had over the years given the time/money they have spent on it. The disaster will only get worse if they switch the old site off as I know many significant users who absolutely hate the new site and it has nothing to do with being reluctant to change.
It is little wonder so few people have confidence in BF when they treat customers so poorly. |

Why don't they build a new new site? The old one is outdated and the new site is no good.
By:
@YOMOMMA that's pretty much what they are doing - all the betslips and market views have been replaced in the last few months.
@Marlas_Magic - I get people who say that the what-if figures take up too much space so they can't see enough runners or it's a pain not being able to keep the Timeform data turned off, or even those who find the new colours too bright. I don't understand people who say the new site is 'utterly dreadful' without any further detail; I use it every day by choice and don't find it anything like 'dreadful'. |

I suppose some of us was just contented with the old site and saw no need to change. But we live in a world with incessant change unfortunately.

I had a go at doing the lay all thing on a couple of the races but I couldn't make it go wrong; to be fair I'm not a very fast typist! ----------- - and - by your own admission - you are NOT a "fast," - or several - bet placer, either. I fully understand what he meant about using the "Tab button" to QUICKLY move down through the Bet Slip. When you ARE used to this modus operandi - then you CAN easily beat the Odds insertion time lapse on the NEW site. .....NO such problems on the CLASSIC (Old) site. As I keep saying - longridge - It is every bit, if not more, about FUNCTIONALITY than appearance - - and - for the record - I FAR prefer the appearance of the 'Old' Site - most especially with the ability/option to change the LAY Box colour to Yellow - thus making the Odds and Amounts far easier to read. ![]() |

By:
Longbridge - I came across the auto refresh bar and its one of the very few positive things - but positive nonetheless.
Can anyone else try that typing in the same odds and stake exercise - as my fingers do work very quickly as they have to - and i cant go through 3 or 4 selections without a typo - which is nothing short of a shambles. |

You are content with ATR sparrow so there is really no hope!
By:
Not strictly true, jmdc. I think that the time delay is shocking, but otherwise yes.
If you are content with the new site then that is your opinion which you are entitled to. |
By:
I use the old site sparrow - note my joining date.
By:
Goodness me, we agree on something.
By:
wicklow - I have confirmed your - "typing in the same odds and stake exercise" - in my post at 14:37 - above your request
By:
onlooker - so im guessing you have the same problems?
cheers |

By:
Wicklow, gruss betting assistant is 6.00 a month
you can do your lay all with one click |
By:
No - wicklow - Because I ONLY use the OLD site.
![]() But, as I do use that methodology on the Old site - I then tried the self-same modus operandi on the New site - after I read your post - and - sure enough ... I could easily beat the odds and stakes time lapse acceptance on it. ![]() |

If you bet on more than one line on the cricket runs line or on football daily goals page it still shows incorrect profit and loss.
By:
Same situation on the asian handicap football(soccer page) if you are betting on more than one line, the old site tells you exactly how much you stand to win or lose on different results. The new site does not do this.
By:
Just looking at the new site now, I haven't used it in ages. No wonder the exchange has gone to pot the old site is simple and easy to use which is all you need really.
The new site would be suitable for recreational punters but not surprising heavy users don't like it. |
By:
A monumental pain in the arse on the new site is the way your favourites all disappear from the left-hand side bar every time you open a new market, to be replaced with a list of markets you don't want.
You have to drag over to the fiddly little FAVOURITES box on the upper left, then if you're lucky the appallingly slow and sticky site will eventually show your favourites again and you can finally navigate to the market you want. Frequently of course the whole site just freezes instead. |
By:
I'll stick to the old site until they do away with it.

Wicklow, gruss betting assistant is 6.00 a month you can do your lay all with one click Im aware of gruss as i have used it before - and I know it can do the function in 1 click - but thats besides the real point. Where in the old site i could click 4 or 5 secletions and type in some odds and I know its going to in right - where as in the new site - I will invariably have to re type my odds as its so dam slow and will have a few errors. |
By:
On course bookmakers who post on here, do you prefer the new site or the old site?.
By:
Why do you ask that? - kevo -
- of just one small proportion of the overall users. |
By:
is the new site growing on you yet onlooker?
By:
Just interested in their opinion onlooker.
By:
Cannot see any separate, or insular, relevance - kevo.
By:
Not if you have read my posts of this thread, properly - Brother Mouzone.
By:
Very droll onlooker but we don't want to go there again. On course bookmakers must use betfair every time that they are oncourse, so my original question does has some relevance imho.
By:
I always thought on course bookmakers mostly used daq.
By:
New site is too cluttered and full of shyte.
By:
Not attempting be droll - or even dismissive - kevo - Sorry if it may have appeared as such.... and am at a loss to kno here - "going there again," is.
I just could not comprehend ho using the site (Old or Ne) could be any different for On course Bookmakers, than to other regular users. |

* ^ 'know where' - "going there again," is.

What I LOATHE about these alleged 'upgrades' we seem to regularly encounter nowadays on various websites is that it takes a moron like me an eternity to 'master' a particular site, and when that day arrives, some genius decrees it's outdated
![]() They don't give a shít that some of us haven't been brought up with this technology and it's quite demanding for many of us getting ourselves familiarised with new shíte - I'm not alone on that score. It's happened so many times to me but the most annoying thing is that in this situation there is NO alternative for gambling purposes as Betdík is unbelievably bad so we have a virtual monopoly here and these fcukers know it! ![]() The people who threaten to go over there are kidding themselves...I've done so out of sheer spite and I've paid for it with hard currency ![]() I hope someone on here will organise a mass walkout if only for a day (at say Royal Ascot) as then everyone complaining should stick to their guns and play their part by not placing ANY bets on here at all! A few of the big-hitters are the key to helping us out as that's the only way these pricks will budge on this...when it starts costing them their commission! I can't understand why BOTH versions don't just continue as they are as that'll please everyone but that's too difficult for the bellends in charge who thrive on taking sledgehammers to (my) nuts...such as saving a few quid in scrapping the radio service which has pissed off a lot of people, but do they listen? |
By:
not sure if just me...can't get any markets to load this morning on old site (LOADING...please wait while the market loads screen)..
New site fine |
By:
@YOMOMMA - on Football AH there's a 'P&L Table' checkbox above the market view shows exactly that - P&L for each outcome.
By:
Yes I did see that they have added that. Don't seem to have it on the cricket innings runs yet, or football daily goals page.
By:
Looks like they've pulled the old site for racing today
![]() |
By:
Intentionally or unintentionally betfair have stopped loading the football daily goals pages for Germany, Italy, Spain and France. Only England Premier League showing today.
Sad sign of the times for the betfair exchange. |
By:
Yep, they're removing a few of this sort of market. Can't speak for the ones you've mentioned specifically but they've intentionally culled a number of the Premier League 3pm Specials Markets. Used to be ten or so and now just four.
By:
TP, football daily goals for various leagues was one of my favourite things to bet on. They should put commission back to 0.075% for it like it was beginning of the season and last season and it would be busy again!
