cheltenham might have been it's cup final though. also hopefully it wont be able to dominate. so an in running lay for me if it gets harrassed but good luck
By:
i agree zarkandar wouldnt have beaten it
By:
I have no doubt that it will lead, there is nothing in the race that is a "natural front runner" , cant see anything taking it on, GL
By:
yeah but if they dont take it on they can expect the same result

Won fair and square in stayers and must go well again. However it may just set the race up for a closer. Indeed, this week at Aintree there hasnt really been any horse that has won that has been anywhere near the pace.
I put up Henryville on here in the pertemps and it ran a super race at massive odds of top weight. I think the horse is better on a flat track and is still lightly raced, just the 2nd run since November. The form of that race is working out well with Call the Cops being unlucky on Thursday. Will like the ground and run well at the course before. Horse travels supremely well and imo, worthy of this step up in class. Massive EW bet for me at a juicy 18/1. I also see this morning, that Andy Holding (who's opinion I respect) also likes this one. His view is based on sectional timings, something I don't really follow, but acccording to him, the Henryville performance at the festival was every but as good as Cole Harden. Fingers crossed he runs well, and GL Koi, hope we get the 1-2. |

Agree definitely bet of meeting (along with arctic fire
)...how the hell is it not shorter?..has them all well beat on world hurdle form..not even clear fav ![]() At no point did it look like getting beat..had a big bet on Saphir and knew a long way out nothing was gonna pass it the way he was cruising..he's actually pulling away at end. Think conditions are even better today and trying to stop him dominating will be easier said than done. |
By:
Hope you're right koi, Greatrex stable is in a poor run of form 1 / 15 in April with most horses beaten either pulled up or beaten a long way.
He was out of form prior to Cole Harden's run at Cheltenham so I'm hoping the horse is in as good a form today as it was at Cheltenham. |
By:
I backed Zarkandar at Cheltenham and thought he was very unlucky to make that mistake when he did I don't know if He would have beat Cole Harden if he hadn't but it certainly would have been close probably prefer Zarkandar to turn around that form today but not had a bet in it.
By:
I backed Zarkandar & thought it did well after the mistake I cant say that It wouldent av won.....this track suits front runners but Zarkanda got a bit of class....If traveling behind like it was at Chelt may have a burst of pace thats hard to deal with.................interesting

I like Whisper in this on last years winning form he has the beating of Zarkandar. He has to improve on Cheltenham form but I don't think he was at his best in that race. I do agree however that Cole Harden should be the favorite in this race.
By:
Last year Zarkandar got into a duel with at fishers cross and set it up for whisper, i think Cole Harden will confirm the cheltenham form today.

dont think zarkandar will get involved in a duel today

11 Apr 15 11:11 Swardean , I agree v. much with your good post, even if to summarise the e/w maggot as 'Henryville performance at the festival was every but as good as Cole Harden.' is a bit of hyperbole.

By:
Saphir De Rheu has already franked the form. I backed Zarkandar At Cheltenham and won't be chasing my losses- it is a horse that makes jumping errors and moreso on flat tracks. Can't see past Cole Harden here.
By:
think Whisper will win this again today,
should at least make the frame anyway. 9/2 with some firms atm,E/W bet to me. GL ALL |
By:
Surely Cole Harden won't get the run of the race again like he did at Chelters? I can see 2 others in this field taking him on up front. For me Zarkandar looks the bet of the meeting with a flat track and a fast pace to aim suiting the horse down to the ground. I also think he has a touch of class the others in this field don't have. I can see Sam switching him off and joining the race approaching the last flight before scooting away.

ZARKANDAR

Can't decide between Cole Harden and Whisper, so I'm just gonna lay Zark (usually a very profitable strategy anyway).

this is a tough horse to get past so dont expect anything to whizz past it

Ran well here last year and it`s World Hurdle win was no fluke. If this were trained by Nicholls or Mullins it would be an even money shot. Lovely jubbly.

Should go close, KK.
I personally have backed Whisper @ 16/1. Ran close to a mark of 160 at Cheltenham; should be enough for a place IMO. GL |
By:
Sorry, not Whisper, Henryville*
By:
Cant see how Cole Harden can be beat - unless Whisper sjows an improved level of form even on last years win
By:
if he gets beat here it will be disappointing
By:
race over cole given lead

By:
can't see Cole Harden losing from here. Jumping hiiiigh

easy for Whisper lol
