Bit about me, used to come on here years ago, but now an infrequent visitor, just had to come on to have a rant about bookmakers, they are killing horse racing, the sport i love.
Been a punter for nearly 30 years, experienced all kinds of ups n downs, only recently made it pay, last 3 and a bit years to be exact, but had a job to fall back on, but left one of these rodents 1 month ago, quite happily I might add, and really want to make a go of it professionally. I know how the vermin work, I've probably had 40+ accounts shut in last 3 years, under various guises I might add, but now these bookies just don't want any hrse business, only this week had 1 account shut after 4 bets, and another after none, yes none! They claimed I tried to back a horse at a wrong price, so my acc was no fixed odds, aint that the name of the game? Companies in question are boils and r acebets, just a joke these guys, especially the former, think that s 4 gone with them. the main barrier is going to be getting on, which £I was aware of, but you expect accoubts to last a little longer. they should say, you are welcome to bet race, by race, but no early movers please, but ur always welcome in our casino! |

PHOENIX YOUR HEADLINE IS WRONG,IT SHOULD READ PEOPLE WHO PRETEND TO BE BOOKMAKERS,I DEFINE A BOOKMAKER AS SOMEONE WHO WILL TAKE AND STAND A DECENT BET,THIS SHOWER NOW RING THE POLICE IF U TRY TO GET OVER £100 ON ANYTHING,PLUS ALL THE ONLINE FIRMS RULE NUMBER ONE IS THOUST SHALL NOT WIN,AS YOU SAY THEY ARE KILLING THE GAME!

I know my friend, they have never had it so good either, all the products they cant lose on, uou would think they would be more aggressive with the nags, but obviously not. If any of the toe rags read this, an idea springs to mind, cull all ur glossy PR folk, cos u advertise prices, but lay pennies!

how can anyone claim not to get a bet on when you have the exchanges......
|
|
By:
why would you want to bet with the bookies........unless you follow pricewise

Cardifffc.....ever hear of premium charge and commission ya tool ya.....
|
|
By:
i'm with cfc...any horse with the aformentioned firms you could easily get on here at better odds (even after commission) and especially if the OP has had 27 losing years from 30. i dont understand these type of posts.

If you win here you pay premium charge.....it couldnt be simpler....if you are allowed bet here without paying the winners tax.....then you are a loser.....

use smarkets exchange same odds as betfair on the horses, only 2% comm and no pc

An intelligent rant would be a good tread .
This however lacks that vital component. In order to be a successful punter you have to have min of two things. Proper math skills which are clearly lacking from the op An advantage which is not exposed .This will vary with many as there are ways but without those vital components as the op does not have its pretty sure to fail . |

Its got f all to do with bookmakers Imho .
If you know your stuff you win. Simple as. |

Furthermore have been in most racing jurisdictions all over the world and found the exact same thing.

As regards to race bets . com brilliant to me over the years and always take my bets when abroad.
Find it hard to fault them to be fair. Show a very hearty profit with them. |
|
By:
Its too serious to joke.
For sure I have lost a few bets with them but overall truly they have never refused me. Have no interest in promoting any company(especially German) but just thought it might be of use. Either way it goes back to the initial. Know your stuff. |

In reply to the Op.
Nice and WD timeform for a change theonlywayforward theonlywayforward 20 Mar 15 20:58 Joined: 31 Aug 05 | Topic/replies: 9,469 | Blogger: theonlywayforward's blog Backed Annadiamond in the 8.35 @ dundalk because it was unexposed as was the gamble but the price was unreal. What was unusual was the timeform comment for it as it read quote 33/1, creditable 2¼ lengths 8th of 14 to Cristy's Call in handicap at this course (10.7f) 7 days ago. Looks competitive on form. Normally priced @ around 7/1. |

Just glanced through a few replies, a mixed bag really. Id love to soley use exchanges, but there is very little liquidity in the mornings, thats when most of my business is carried out, so there is a need to use fixed odd bookies. The exchanges would admit about 90% on every race is done upto, and including the final 15 mins

Phoenix - you and many others have made these sort of postings over the years but I feel they're wasted on here. Either initiate some campaign to get things changed or accept that this is how business/ capitalism works and try and find a way around it.

Absolute nonsense - unless you are backing a complete non jigger in the morning, it is near on impossible to get a hundred quid matched on here on anything that is near a double figure price. Liquidity must be at an all time low up until 10 minutes pre race. |

last two posts are spot on. Some people have to actually work at some point in the day and often their horrendous hours include the hours of afternoon racing so trying to get a £100ew on an 8/1 poke is hard work on here mid morning unless non jigger, at least you could hit 5 shops for score ew if you really really want it. It might be 11/2 by the time you've got to the 4th destination.

Well probably true if you do not have access as ph has just explained very well.
In my case I work in the industry so that does not occur but often have to deal with owners with that problem and they think we backed it which is not the case . Reason why is quite simple as been with horses all my life and for sure if you have to travel which is the case most times the amount of things that do go wrong is never publicised . I for sure would not back even one of ours in the morning. Better off waiting to know if it travelled well. On the big meetings its fine because you are normally there two or three days ahead . |
|
By:
And for sure some stable lads are just brain dead and he may work for another yard but fks you chance through stupidity.
Happens regular and trust me there is no real upside in that only for the bookies. This stuff is rarely to the fore in race reports but is a crucial part of any success . |

Looks like Ibrahima Sonko agrees with the OP.

Too many fools on this forum..
To the biggest two.. No liquidity on this exchange as regards horse racing early on especially when there is a TV meeting and the prices on here are actually smaller than with the alleged "Bookmakers."If nothing proves how many people are banned from their rancid sites and how much money they are turning away this does... Racebets. Not a lot to say apart from you are banned before you have a bet which must mean that they are breaking all sorts of Data Protection rules.Anyone that claims that they can take a price with the German firm and make a profit is a liar. |
