What either C4 or Racing see in walsh is beyond me..... His "Performance" on the mid season review on RUK was shockingly hilarious. The constant atmosphere he creates sniping at anyone who dares to disagree.

Completely unsuited to any media work on tv as he has the charisma of a donut. The funniest part is both channels brown nose him at every opportunity yet he wouldn't give them the steam off his pi55.

Couldn't agree more Queenie, I watched that programme and thought what a rude pr!ck Walshe is, was plain as anything he just turned up for the fee, if he doe's not want to be there they should have just told him to **** off back to Ireland and I am typing this from dublin.

It's not as if he tells you anything, Coolmore springs to mind.

R W brilliant jockey, but doesn't seem to understand how the ''media'' works in the twenty first century !

Comes across as arrogant, boorish and my view is the right view !

He's certainly inherited his Fathers' genes !

says it how it is. people complain about gushing and the gravy train, then he says it how it is and isnt liked. proves that this forum doesnt know what it wants. why ask him silly questions, if faugheen turns up fit and well we all know he rides it, told us annie power was going well at home and looking forward to riding it, what do you want him to tell us. Mullins yard is full of winners and you will never get rich backing his horses as they all go off too short because of reputation

He doesn't say it how it is. He says what he thinks it is then arrogantly slaps down anyone with anything approaching another opinion.
If someone in the pub behaved that way he'd be labelled a c@@t and rightly so.

Not sure why you're mentioning Mullins, Annie power or faugheen as it doesn't have much to do with the original point.
I think the forum knows well what it wants.... Less brown nosing of jocks trainers etc.... And maybe concentrate on the actual horses

I strongly suspect Walsh's attitude can be summed up thus - "if these pr1cks want to pay me money for representing them so be it but I'll put minimal effort in".

Questions should not be directed at Walsh but at the idiots who have decided to engage him. More evidence of the celebrity obsessed environment in which we now, alas, live. I'd like an RUK alternative package at say £15 a month. No pundits, presenters just a studio prescence to link proceedings , pictures of horses in the paddock, going down and the race. In other words more akin to the racecourse experience. I suspect a lot would vote for that. With a few honourable exceptions the quality of pundits and presenters is lamentable (some of them seemingly incapable of speaking grammatically correct English) and it irks me that in order to follow the sport I love I have to put up with these inadequates taking my subscription.

Walsh is a fine jockey but he does come across as an arrogant tw@t who thinks everyone else is beneath him and the sh1t on his shoe, with his beligerant, sneering attitude.
Maybe I'm wrong and he's just not comfortable speaking in front of the cameras, in that case dont appear on the show, it's hardly like you need the money. Sad

Agreed Paris.

ATR,RUK and Ch4 should watch Hong Kong racing t.v, Dubai racing T.V. or any of the live feeds from American or South American racing to see

how it should be done.

Unfortunately we live in an era of style over substance,in which 'personalities' are more important to the media than the horses or the racing.

i have to agree with roggrain ,racing tv shows are very poor.
if David Cleary and Paul Jackson(think that's his name)timeform presenters were on tv on a Saturday for an hour they would capture 80% of the viewers within 2 weeks.
both guys are really up to speed with their knowledge of racing and both are prepared to speak their minds.
the combination of both minds working in harmony give some top class information about the racing game and plenty of winners.

isn t cleary a bumper race expert which is of 0,0% interest to saturday viewers, other fella never heard of him and i take an interest so you think 2 people hardly heard off within current interested viewers is going to drag 1000,s into the game, good luck with that one

Paris, RUK exists to perpetuate propaganda and industry protectionism - without the presenters and pundits there would be no room to take the money for the PR.

As far as RUK is concerned we aren't the customers - we are the product it is selling...

Shouldn't the main point here be , why is Banks on the show in the first place? I believe he knew ruby would attack hs stupid questions. This is the way this  stable operates and will never change and why shoul they. Their business is winning races and who can argue with their record. Yes Ruby is narky but McCoy was like this up unil recently and now he's everyone's favourite.

Paul Jacobs might be the one you're thinking of. Cleary is a great paddock judge, which i suppose comes to highlight Bumper winners as there's no worthwhile form to go on.

He is a 1st class judge of NH racing as a whole though.

he was deffo on at market rasin one day when they said the bumper was right up clearys street, and he went right through the breeding side of every runner
