A. P. McCoy quote inside cover Plain

" To me,courage is having your last £250k on something you,ve got no control over.THAT takes real balls"

Quite right AP, shame that the machines you promote only have a max stake (for now) of £100 then.

If your prepared to have a bet of £250k bet on anything no matter how big a certainty you are a fool and also greedy. All you are doing is betting for a buzz its no wonder he went broke.

Terry Ramsden (auto)biography would be worth buying.............probably the time has passed for that as its a long time ago now.

On his own wouldn't he just be what is commonly known as a 'mug punter'.

It is not hard to envisage him better through the early hours on any old sport just to get his money back.

Always had to laugh at his man of the people act. Rubbing shoulders with the likes of Barber & Co. How many would want to know him now? Then there was the Scoop 6 where week after week he squeezed out the small punter and then when he won gave the impression of offering the odd one a helping hand.

I'll say one thing for the man. Forget the bottle he had to stick 2.5 million on the All Blacks. A bit much perhaps but he did 'earn' that money.

nobody seriously thought there would be an edge or some unearthed nugget to aid future betting practice? Its a watered down life story with incredible highs and lows, how to enjoy life when caked and always acknowledging he isn't clever chasing bets day in day out. He knows he is degenerate rather than disciplined but he has enjoyed the ride. No doubt his wife hasn't but she is a heroine to give her love and support through the sickness and madness of chasing the dream and being skint. Good that he openly criticises Ruby for Denman ride as a novice and the image of Nicholls rooting through the carnage to collect his clock..... Maybe its fanciful to state he wanted the tank money from the AB's to slow down and bet more selectively but perhaps that was a plan. I'm sure his Mrs  gets to throw her views in behind closed doors. Now whether he listens......
