I can remember most of the things mentioned in the OP, but from the 50's.Going to secondary school from Bellingham on the 47 bus.Using my dinner money to buy cigarettes.
Also going collecting empty Robertson jam jars along with old rags and returning them for extra cash. Foyles. I went to Addey & Stanhope , which is still there, or was last time i passed through Deptford. |

the pubs used to have beanos ........a coach to the coast southend.margate Clacton etc, crates of beer on board ,then into the seasides towns pubs ,crumpet if you were lucky, jellied eels ,shrimps and winkles or whelks
and sick on the seafront ,marvellous ! |
