Couldn't wait for granddad to get the coal fire started in winter. 5p went a long way on sweets, like 1p huge Whopper Bars, Texans my favourite with Old Jamaican Bars. Up at 4am to help dad deliver the milk. Thunderbirds, Daleks and Swop Shop. Flaires, penny round collars and platforms. K-knockers on twine and a tube you whizzed round our head to make a humming noise

Re-school, dinner lady gave you a pice of tracing paper to wipe your bum on and witchhazel if you ut yourself falling over on the concrete. Girls used to play marbles and hop-scotch
