Lawrence Of Arabia/Born Free there is little between them. I guess Mr Barry borrowed his theme.

The opening sequence from Play Misty For Me (not the Roberta Flack song, but the jazz track Dirty Boogie by Gator Creek) is a classic for me.

I used to get some strange looks when I blasted this out in my various convertible jalopies many years ago

And as John Barry has already been mentioned...albeit not a film but the TV series 'The Adventurer' which alas didn't live up to the more than catchy theme tune;

Don't know if it was used for the films but Mission Impossible theme was brilliant. Written by the mighty Lalo Schriffin in the very unusual 5/4 time.
