great thread (even if it does belong on chit-chat) - you've just had me spending a couple of glorious hours on youtube listening to these old theme songs. Th Persuaders (I was a nipper at the time and it made a big impression) is the essence of 70's naff/cool , the music is quite disturbing almost.
got a film theme to contribute - the much overlooked (godknowswhy) Fistful of Dynamite , a wonderful film with the absolutely lush James Coburn (what a guy, far cooler than curtis and Moore. Supreme music, by the genius Morriconi. A sentiment fest that never fails to moisten my eyes when they do the flashbacks to Ireland and Coburn in the pub when he has to blow his best friend away for snitching to the peelers
