When: 04 Aug 14 10:06
The worst thing they ever did imo.
Tote was much better.
By:
adge
When: 04 Aug 14 10:36
not that much between them , really , both cream off around the same amount as profit .
the difference is that the tote is erratic with dividends and the others are a clear cut but consistent rip off
By:

When: 04 Aug 14 10:43
the crowds will go down at bangor jumping punters like to bet and watch the aways, chester and ripon will get away with it as the majority are not to bothered about the racing there seeing let alone racing from other tracks.

YESTERDAY AT CHESTER THE PUBLIC ANNOUNCER EXPLAINED FOR OVER 10 MINS BEFORE RACING STARTED HOW PUNTERS COULD BE RIPPED OFF BY PLACING THEIR BETS WITH CHESTERBET,OR IF THEY WANTED TO THEY COULD PLACE THEIR WAGER ON THIS EXCHANGE VIA THE FREE WI FI OFFERED BY THE RACECOURSE AND THE PUNTERS OWN MOBILE PHONE,THEY EVEN HAD PEOPLE THAT WOULD SHOW ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING CONNECTION HOW TO LOG ON,NO MENTION OF COURSE THAT THE PUNTER WOULD HAVE TO PAY COMMISSION ON ANY WINNING BETS! HAVING PAID MY MARKETING FEE ON TWO PITCHES IN TATTS I WAITED IN ANTICIPATION FOR THE ANNOUNCEMENT THAT THE RACECOURSE BOOKMAKERS WHO WERE OFFERING FAR BIGGER PRICES THAN CHESTERBET OR ANY EXCHANGE WOULD BE OPERATING THROUGH OUT THE RACECOURSE,BUT NO NOT A MENTION.ONCE AGAIN OUR NEGOTIATORS(THE IM ALLRIGHT JACK BRIGADE)HAVE FAILED IN EVERY RESPECT IN THEIR DEALINGS WITH CHESTER RACECOURSE,TO PAY A MARKETING FEE AT ANY RACECOURSE IS A JOKE,BUT TO PAY ONE AT CHESTER BEGGARS BELIEF!!!

Fact yes this place has been a major sposnsor at Chester this year as you will know and is certainly making sure it gets plenty of exposure as a result as any sensible sponsor would, it is all about brand awareness at the end of the day, ultimately as I have said before those who struck the deals were only interested in tenure and tenure only.... Raceourses will do as they wish and take no account of other stakeholders especially Racecourse bookmakers when making such announcements.

try to organise a bookies boycott of chester if you cant get your own colleagues to stand up and fight for your jobs

things will only get worse fight or just accept the way things are going.

although I fear the stag and hen does who now rule weekend racing wont be bothered or even realise your not there

if they have chester bet or their mobile phones with them having a bet is just part of the fun they don't care if their

being ripped off as long as they can brag they had the winner their only there for the beer

THE USELESS/CLUELESS GAMBLING COMMISSIONS RULES STATE "LICENSEES MUST BE ABLE TO PROVIDE EVIDENCE TO THE COMMISSION,IF REQUIRED,SHOWING HOW THEY SATISFIED THEMSELVES THAT THEIR TERMS ARE NOT UNFAIR" I WONDER HOW CHESTERBET GOT AROUND THAT ONEConfused,I REMEMBER BEING TOLD BY A MEMBER OF THE GAMBLING COMMISSION TEAM THAT I COULD BE IN BREACH OF MY LICENSE IF I WERE FOUND TO BE TAKING BETS FROM INTOXICATED/VULNERABLE PEOPLE,YET IT SEEMS THATS THE CLIENTELE CHESTERBET CATER FOR,ONCE AGAIN ONE RULE FOR ONE,AND THATS AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF WITH THE EXTORTIONATE ENTRANCE AND CATERING PRICES!
By:

Not sure the same applies to the on course bookies.

These people are money grabbing shysters. They advertise the wifi but it is totally useless I'm still waiting for the page to load. all they know about is the balance sheet and how much money they can make, a disgrace to the horse racing world. They would sell the course and build houses if they could get away with it!
By:

When: 04 Aug 14 18:13
I was just replying to rcing when gbfc posted , everything he says is correct, i speak to the staff there and many think the entrance fees are exorbitant and 'chesterbet" just a complete rip-off. Yes to your question rcing but would think the same with my  racegoer hat on.

It showed approx 8 years ago the contempt they hold customers/punter in, when they put the corporate smack in the view of 90% of racegoers.
Was at Bangor on Friday, they make a huge effort not to show any on course prices just their own rip off prices.
Talk with your feet its the only way.

By:

do you believe any of it , efisio.
chesters " improvements " are funnelled into corporate hospitality and bangors " improvements are xxx, you've got me on that one.
By:

When: 05 Aug 14 10:35
and to add the noticeable improvements made at ripon are more temporary bar facilities and a tented area on the grass away from the racing but conveniently next to the tatts riponbet facility
