I could never understand why people used to moan so much about the presenters but Mick Fitzgerald soon made me change my mind, gotta be the most irritating presenter out there. I flip channels asap these days.

I have been expressing my disappointment in the ATR's presentation for a long time on Twitter. In particular I've Tweeted my loathing of the voice of Mick Fitzgerald. I reached the point where I made the decision not to watch ATR's because it put me in a bad mood and when I'm in a bad mood I couln't buy a winner. The principal reason for me responding to HAPPYHARRY'S post is to point out to him that he can loathe the guy as much as he likes, but stop using the racist comment "Thick Mick".
Before you come back with a slating for me try this, I dare you to use the same racist collective of 'Pak_ or Ni--er'.
Thank you on behalf of well-educated Irish folk.

Nick...." Which horse ( Taghrooda or Mukhadram ) do you think Hannagan will pick ( for the King George ) ? "

Fitz...." He'll pick the one he tinks has the best chance of winning."

Mick is starting to look very old and haggard, the pressure from his workload is beginning to take its toll on him.

Mick for your own good and the good of your family, please take a break from it all.

No saint is our Mick I wouldn't think. Bangs on about exchange betting and what he's backed in certain races. Doubt very much he's just picked up the gambling bug all of a sudden after relatively recent retirement. Makes ya think how long he was at it. Maybe he just betted on races he didn't have a ride in ExcitedDevil

At least he hasn't contacted Betfair and asked them to remove the thread and ban all posters with negative comments.

Like his co-presenter allegedly did.

James "Professor Hindsight" Willloughby is a close runner up in how to spoil an afternoon's racing.

Yeah, turned on a while ago to see if it was worthwhile watching the racing. There he was like a bad penny!

So it is the Tour de France for me this afternoon.

Mick Fitz answers a email from viewer asking the difference between a seller & a claiming race.

"Well a claimer, Every horse is in to be claimed, A seller, The winner is put up for public auction"

I'm surprised he knew & am glad he is safe and well, Was worried when he wasn't on TV for a full day.

They give him all the very difficult ones so he can show all his expertise that a Gold Cup & Grand National winner can bring to the table.
Excellent contribution - well worth the money  Plain

this isn't true as any horse can be claimed from a seller before the race, the same as a claimer it is just that the winner is auctioned after the race...
