Yes, once the horrible little man reads this!

His appearance on the Morning Line ensured I never bought the paper again. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who disliked his arrogant tone when discussing the price increase at the time.
No doubt he will be looking in on the forum today to see the response. |

Pleased to say I have not bought a RP for 2 years now.

Dr Gonzo---Great reply----here here

And his mate Steve Palmer.

Dear BCM,
Why have you deleted my post? Please point me to anything in it which was untrue, and i'll happily concede the point, but I bet you can't. |
|
By:
What a farce
|

This really is a sticks & stones scenario, BM can slate the Betfair Forum & all that sail in her but he obviously cannot take criticism back, its all rather sad & pathetic really.
|
|
By:
just like JW----Same scenario pumphol

He had no need to involve the forum in his article; abuse on Twitter was directed personally at Henderson and his daughter and seemed totally unnecessary and abusive. The forum is mostly interesting and sound debate about matters betting and if anyone gets slated its usually fair enough the same way people criticize footballers and teams for poor performances. He just has a bee in his bonnet about the forum and has for ages; its probably down to the fact that most of us now think his beloved RP is a rip off and not on the side of punters any more (if it ever was!)

By:
this is the man that does not understand the concept of backing and laying for profit.
hope man utd thrash olympiakos and his bet loses. dont see it happening ![]() |
|
By:
He certainly seems to have an unusually strong dislike of this forum. Perhaps it's because it's the only place in the racing world where topics that his paper won't even address are discussed openly and it shows his rag up to be the bookie's benefit publication we all know it is. He must be a very sad little man to bring up the Betfair forum in an article on Twitter abuse. Pathetic really.
|
|
By:
The paper wouldn't exist without betting shops imo
|
|
By:
What about us all being nice about Brucie. Then perhaps he would be nice about us
![]() |
|
By:
bilbo - spot on imo.
He's free to use his column to criticise people on this forum, but when we exercise our right of reply, the dummy gets spat and we're censored. It's the actions of a petulant teenager. |
|
By:
i don't see how he can sensor debate about the content of the paper or the articles within from people who buy it (or no longer buy it)
if he had any sense he'd take the feedback because there are many that are not buying the paper nor will pay for online subscription as a result of the standard of journalism or the bias that the paper shows in protecting certain parts of the industry however, i'm pretty sure he won't accept critical comments or abuse about individuals including himself, if you stick to rational comments about the paper i think the thread should stay |

the man lives on planet "Millington" and he thinks everything and everybody else revolves around it.

@RACING_EYE @licketyclit Yawn. Pathetic statement. Get back to the Betfair forum. They'll all agree with you on there. |

BM = small man syndrome - NAP

Bookmakers mouthpiece and yesman.
The users on this forum address topics that your paper won't touch as you are scared of upsetting bookmakers, trainers or jockeys. On the subject of "upsetting" however, by abusing the people of this forum it seems ok for you to upset your readers, let me remind you without your readers you dont have a paper. Are your bookmaker friends or "tipsters" going to take out adverts if you continue to ridicule the very people who support your paper. You can kiss goodbye to another £750 a year as I am now drawing the line for your latest cheapshot. |

What on earth has the Betfair forum got to do with a Twitter discussion
about a P.Power offer? ![]() |

Bruce seems very bitter & twittered !

Well it's better than last weeks words of wisdom:
"It is a journalist's primary function to ask probing questions in a bid to get to the heart of the truth, and the world is a far better place for that." |
|
By:
I both read the RP and contrbute to the Betfair forum, as I imagine many others do.
But apparently, according to Bruce Millington the two are mutually exclusive. So I will have to stop one or the other. Bye Bye Racing Post. |

By:
His bosses must be well pleased the impact he is having on the paper----

When Paul Haigh tried to ask probing questions as a Racing Post journalist, he realised the best course of action was to resign...
http://www.theguardian.com/media/2009/mar/20/racing-post-paul-haigh-resignation He was presumably trying to fulfil his primary function. |
|
By:
Perhaps that's Bruce's brief..... closure post haste !

i think he is under the impression marychain that they are two very different groups, i would imagine his marketing says that the forum makes up a very small % of his readership

Bruce had a right go at the Forum a few years back, with his famous statement "not fit to be let loose with crayons, or something along those lines?.
He was getting a little bit of stick at the time, but after the Forum got wind of his infamous article he's been torn a new one ever since. Better off if he had kept his mouth shut as it had the opposite effect and backfired big time. |
|
By:
It seems quite obvious that the reason BM dislikes this forum so much is that, deep down, he knows the comments about his paper are correct.
On the big stories and questions affecting racing and punters, the Racing Post is nowhere to be seen. |

The audited net average issue sale of the Racing Post for August 2007 was 72,184 copies. This was down from 80,343 in March 2007, which in itself was down 7.03% year-on-year.
