It's gone further downhill over the last couple of years. Finger Lakes was a favourite of mine but for some reason Betfair can no longer offer markets there. So the last 2 days there have been 3 meetings strung over about 9 hours so for much of the time only one

Tony Calo was the commentator there wasn't he? I remember him doing Bay Meadows and Golden Gates. I used to like Hollywood Park as well.

Not sure about Calo though the name rings a bell.
They had stopped offering the Californian tracks before I started taking it seriously but there seems now to be a slow but steady seepage of the tracks they offer. Don't think they're that bothered since they've realised they won't get to operate in the US. Liquidity is still a lot higher than most of the markets they offer on strange football matches,not to mention stuff like handball or whatever. |

I remember it being non stop from 7pm until the last at Golden Gates at 1.45am. I used to go to bed totally exhausted. At Great Lakes there would be 10,000 dollars in their tote and £50,000+ on here. I think the yanks could use betfair in those days.

Not sure about the Yanks but a lot of Canadians played. Their commission rate went up fairly drastically some time ago. I suspect that has caused the fall off in liquidity,though you still get the odd race at a minor track where something close to £100k is matched.

What annoys me on the old site is going to football and finding matches from goodness knows where or in 4 weeks time. I struggled to find the cup final on Saturday.
