Thought she was unlucky in running at Newmarket (and not for the first time) and although these things have a way of going astray next time out, I feel with luck she will go close today and can see her making the frame and have done her for the win too.

I'm also on!

very surprise if she wins this. very surprised
By:
could have gone close but got knocked all over
By:
can anyone remember the last time hughes did not find trouble
By:
will always be unlucky.
if you backed it you were fooled by the horse. |
By:
not as bad as peslier last time

It wouldn't have been a surprise on her run at Newmarket where she got no kind of run at all and yet again the same happened in this.
It's always a gamble when a horse is surrounded by so many other runners and she got knocked from pillar to post but I wouldn't write her off just yet, but she certainly gets no luck in running as this is the third time now but a race like the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot might suit her if not too many runners and going around a turn might filter out some of the traffic problems. |

Beware of any horse that continously finds trouble

Any of you guys who thought that she was unlucky at Newmarket need to stop gambling now. You have a lot to learn about race-reading.
By:
That's a bit or a cliché at the best of times but I don't think that line applies to her here and from her 3 wins from 6 runs before today, they came in fields with 6, 7 and 10 runners. At Newmarket there were 15 and today there were 16 and on a straight course over a shortish distance like a mile, then fewer runners will drop away early and the field won't get strung out early-ish so there's always the potential for hard luck stories.
By:
They keep trying to creep to try and help her get the trip, at this stage she needs a step back imo.
By:
^ or just ride her more prominently on the assumption that she will get the trip and see what happens.
...'cos we still don't really know whether she gets the trip or not. |
By:
Of course she was unlucky at Newmarket easygold and not trying to rude here but suggest if you think she wasn't then maybe it's you who needs to stop gambling now and not others.
The Racing Post after race comments were: Steadied after start, held up in last quartet, not clear run over 2f out, still only 11th when ridden well over 1f out, headway and edging right over 1f out, ran on strongly inside final furlong, not reach leaders. And despite all of that finished 6th, so made 5 places in the final 2f to only to be beaten 2½L after being switched back and forth to try to get a run, where once the jockey switched to the near side, had he continued to do that she would have got a clear run. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wJzFi9DnEI Watch the video from around 1 minute in and ignore the race and just watch her run. |

the r.post comments, what do they know. i re-watch races more than those bluffers. my report read didn`t stay drop back in trip may suit her better. As i said very surprised if wins this. what`s ur problem u read the race wrong. move on
By:
easygold has this game by the bollocks
By:
hughes read the race wrong
By:
peslier got it wrong at newmarket because of the stamina issue and hughes was just unlucky today
By:
easygold really likes to Lord it over others - wonder why?
By:
So a filly that has won at 7f easygold and in two mile classics was doing her best work at the finish despite traffic problems and was closing all the way to the line, compared to say how far she was behind at the 6f pole in both races doesn't stay?
I think maybe you need to go and watch the videos again. |
By:
We will see. A fast run mile no way......... no chance
By:
I'd say she's obv a doubtful stayer but as Rease said, none of us know. Hannon and Hughes don't, tactics and interviews seem to point towards if she does she willlll.....just.
By:
easygold........are you a pro punter
By:
If she was a doubtful stayer she would be dropping away at the end of her races rather then finishing and closing down/narrowing the gap between herself and the leaders and those ones weren't stopping either.
I hope they don't drop her back in trip though. |
By:
ima.........think theres no doubt she stays a mile but also think ridden correctly she would win top races at 6f
By:
I think you could well be right cardiffc as bar a few odd ones, most of our sprinters are either failed milers or promoted handicappers and she wouldn't have to be great to win a decent 6f race but I think it's too early to consider her a failed miler yet but would understand them dropping her back in trip as her class would still make her competitive at 6f.
I suppose it's all about opinions but it's the connections who get to make the call. |
By:
2 of the widest tracks around and found traffic problems both times
By:
Are u changing ur mind??
By:
If you mean me easygold then no I'm not changing my mind about her staying a mile because to me I think she does but I've always held the view that classier horses running at a trip that is not their own one will still beat less classy horses at their preferred trip.
Saying she is good enough to win at 6f doesn't mean she doesn't stay a mile or that she isn't good enough to win a decent mile race. |
By:
It pains me to say it, but I agree with ima on this one. She is a class filly who will prove herself over the trip ridden with more confidence
By:
Hughes once again rode a poor race.Gets found out time and time again.Gets more beat than to win through his poor judgement.just not a big race jockey one to avoid.

only 1 English classic winner tells its own story

LOL...why does it pain you to say it tip1uk, are you suggesting I'm usually wrong?

No mate, It's the Fallon thing I have problems with at times. He has ridden for me in the past and in my opinion he's a wrong un who considers himself untouchable.
He has upset a lot of people and if, as I suspect, you are quite close to him then I am sure you will know this. You appear to defend him on every thread when at times he is truly indefensible. |

By:
worth another chance today with frankie on top.

We will learn more today for this 7f horse.
By:
7f horse, in this company for sure.

Only just seen this once the thread was brought up again so just to say I'm not actually close to Fallon tip1uk if you get to see this and have never even met him and know full well as a human being he has his flaws but all I've ever done initially is state that the Baliinger Ridge ride was a human error c0ck up and not dodgy. It then seems most of the vitriol towards him stems from that, so if he gets beaten on anything else or misses the break as all jockeys do, that's when the dodgy claims get wheeled out again.
As for Maureen today, again I felt she was a little unlucky in running although nothing like as before and eventually got the gap she needed if good enough but just wasn't, although I still wouldn't say she definitely doesn't get the mile because she was ridden a lot more handily today probably to trying to ensure she doesn't have traffic problems again, yet take the winner out which put distance between the rest and Maureen has finished a reasonably close up 3rd behind what would have been a dual 1000gns winner but for today's winner again. |

Maureen's excellent performance showed again what a certainty Annecdote was on Wednesday.
