So you are willing to risk the health of an animal for the pleasure of your betting?
Hmmm. |

It's a bit like asking the difference between the organisers of the London Marathon and somebody who randomly assaults people in the pub.

The young girl killed by 4 dogs......should we put all dogs down to prevent such an episode or should we use common sense, something you seem to be sadly lacking .

TELEPATHIC
This twaat would be more likely to favour putting down all young girls so the lovely dogs are not led into temptation. |

Is it safer for horses to run on the flat, or over jumps?

By:
Bolt
This specimen is a danger to humans as his ilk have been through the ages, give them a cause and they will pursue it like the "FANATICS" they resemble and hell mend the consequences. |

I'm sure you'll have the statistics at hand, chill out and get yourself down the pub for a pint. I think wesdag summed up this thread.

Dear Mr Angry
Assuming you are not on a fishing trip can I ask a question? If you get rid of jump racing, what would you do with all the horses that are bred, which are not fast enough to be competitive on the flat. By getting rid of jump racing you are committing far more horses to an early grave than the number of fatalities. |
By:
Is it safer to ride a bike or drive a car?
By:
Let me paraphrase. Yes, it is safer on the flat.
Therefore, horses are raced over jumps knowing the increased danger. We accept that extra danger, because it brings pleasure. And you want me to get off my soapbox? It seems you are the ones with issues, knowing causing animals to suffer. |

IS IT SAFER FOR SOMEONE TO RUN 100 METRES OR THE MARATHON ?
Is it safer to jump off a cliff or throw yourself under a car ? Is it safer toknit a pullover or bake a cake ? FOYSC |

By getting rid of jump racing you are committing far more horses to an early grave than the number of fatalities. The same argument used by the Romans, no doubt, about their slaves. Judge man by the way he wields his power. We are wielding it to knowingly inflict suffering. Nice. |

You are causing me suffering with your twisted logic, on that basis I think you should be the subject of a lobotomy to see what actually makes you tick.

You see a man hitting a woman.
You see a man hitting a dog. You see a man with power. What is your opinion of that man? |
By:
Mightfly That would be considered a mercy killing.

Get back to chit chat where you belong,Miss Angry.
By:
why bother with this trolling pin head?
By:
Mr Angry, I didn't see anyone hitting any women, or dog for that matter, so what's your point ?
By:
You see a man hitting a woman.
You see a man hitting a child. You see a man hitting a dog. You see a man with power. What is your opinion of that man? IF you are a civilised person, witnessing these beating will make you feel uncomfortable. We are witnessing the abuse of power. The man could do anything with that power, but he chooses to inflict suffering. Nice. |
By:
He suffers from intellectual constipation, there is a blockage in thinking that cant get passed the same old, same old, same old twisted logic........................And I have wasted too much time on the self abuser.

If you're so Angry why are you even on this site, or do other sports float your boat.
By:
wtf is Ms Angry doing on this site. Witout racing these horses would end up on plates in France or as glue. They are well cared for
By:
Most of those racehorses lead pretty privileged lives - assuming they're not amongst the unlucky ones who die or get seriously injured. Certainly the majority of them live better and longer lives than most farmed animals - even freerange ones. And, for that matter, I suspect they live better lives than most of the housing estate oiks who spend their days on here!!

By:
Spoken like a true Roman.
By:
Hardly... I think if you compare the life and mindset of a racehorse to that of a Roman slave, you'll see quite a difference in terms of contentment...
By:
Mr Angry Spoken like a truely brainwashed member of the Animal before Human Brigade, you are following the script perfectly.....not making a lot of sense but making a lot of noise, what a good little soldier, now go and put your soapbox somewhere else.

"You can judge a society by how well it treats its prisoners"
Fyodor Dostoevsky On other words - you can judge society by how it uses its power. Society, currently, is choosing to use its power over animals to bring entertainment, just as Romans used their power over slaves. In a hundred years we will look back and be ashamed. |

Do you have pets Mr Angry?

Please treat my previous contribution as an answer to this Sh*te.

I'm a member of no organisation. And it seems to me that you are truly brainwashed, believing that forcing horses to race over dangerous obstacles or to exhaustion for the SOLE BENEFIT of your betting entertainment, is acceptable. |

By:
Mr Angry, A question, where would you draw your line? I assume that you are not too keen on shooting and fishing, even for the pot!. But dressage?, showjumping? greyhound racing? terrier racing? Crufts?
By:
I have no idea whether this poster is on a wind-up expedition or not,but if he is it's an excellent parody of the thinking of the Animal Aid fanatics.
By:
I believe that some members of society like you and your mates should be treated like horses, gelded to prevent your weakening of the gene pool.
By:
Mr Angry doesn't answer any questions which undermine his position and just repeats himself.

Of course, I'm a vegetarian. I believe that in this modern age there is no need to eat meat. However, if it's a case of life and death then I would kill to eat. That's natural. I also support culling of animals, where necessary. Where it's not necessary, why inflict suffering? Why inflict suffering for no need? What does that say about you? |
