great stuff meg and the profit and loss figures confirms that it is almost impossible to show a profit on the basis of a selection in every race, which is not surprising given the nature of some of those handicaps and the people involved in riding and training the participants!

out of interest, is it possible for you to produce profit and loss data on the basis of naps only? cheers

great stats megryan and glad to see I had the most top finishes though I missed a meet that I should
of won and messed alot of things up mid-stream, hope to come back stronger and wiser next time and
get a top ten finish.

"total points" as in the scores in each competition based on your selections OR points as per the rank ( 20,15,12.. )

The reason i started to keep records of my selections this time was so i could calculate Average price of winners and nap winners etc. I did all the work manually inputting prices etc and then mistakenly deleted my spreadsheet  

My back-up copy was weeks old, so i don't know the true average price of my winners etc

With all the missing selections this is what i ended up with in my final sheet.

Let the relentlessness begin!

I am pleased to say that Betfair are putting up prize money for this season's competition, for each monthly winner and the overall comp' winner.

I'm sure Bigsmiffy will recap how the prizes are going to be distributed.

Rules for the individual meetings are unchanged:

One selection per race
One nap per meeting

Winner selected scores 7 points
Second selected scores 3 points
Third selected scores 1 point

If SP is greater than 6/1 points are doubled
If SP is greater than 12/1 points are trebled
If SP is greater than 20/1 points are quadrupled
IF SP IS EVENS OR SHORTER POINTS ARE HALVED (i.e a 4/7 winner scores 3.5, a napped 10/11 second scores 3)

All nap points won are doubled.
You may not nap any nag tissued in the Racing post at evens or shorter.

Any non runner (which can be substituted at any time before the off) will automatically go on the favourite, including naps.

Points will be awarded on a daily basis, according to finishing positions as follows:

20 points: 1st place
15 points: 2nd
12 points: 3rd
10 points: 4th
8 points: 5th
6 points: 6th
4 points: 7th
3 points: 8th
2 points: 9th
1 point: 10th

Individual daily meeting threads will be posted in the Horse Racing forum group the night before each meeting and an "in-running" scoring service may sometimes be in operation if the kind volunteers have time.

I think it usually started straight after the turf season ended. It only started on the 1st last season because there was a monthly prize (which there doesn't look like being this time).

Also if there is to be a comp this season (without any prize money), should the final day be Good Friday, the day of the AW Championship Finals?
