If that had been Kelly or Ahern, the forum would have gone into meltdown.
It wasn't a split-second decision, he had ample opportunity from before turning into the straight to ease to the outer, and only did so when it was all too late. He lost a race he should have won, imo. Since changing codes, Lee had an incredible amount of praise heaped upon him by the gravy-train merchants, every time he rides a winner, we're told how magnificent he is. There must be jockeys in the weighing room wondering 'wtf'? Well tonight he got one badly wrong, and not for the first time according to some. Lee shouldn't be exempt from criticism, and that was one ride he deserved to be criticised for, imo. |

Yep bad judgement, but i think you'll find that his bad rides will always be like this as he gets horses so relaxed and thats why he gets so many dodgepots back to winning. He almost rides as though overcomposed and if you notice his rides rarely have hard races,he has a quality that most don't almost educating horses in winning thats whats so impressive as you know they will win again. He reminds me of fallon with his temperament obviously not quite as good as the master!!

I agree with you george, and I backed the horse big time.
Graham Lee is a very good jockey but in this race he completely fecked it up. If he had only switched it outside Jezza he would have won two lengths comfortably. He deliberately took a pull and went inside, expecting a gap to appear that never did, but maybe he should have expected Luke Morris´s mount to go left considering Morris had his whip in his right hand and prefers to whip them on his right. But it was NO split second decision... |
