MARKY BOB

Will take the beating if they give it its head from the front, the last couple of times it has been ridden with restraint in front ….it seems best just left to get on with it, & I thought it would have finished closer to THAT’S RHYTHM last time if it had been ridden that way…the ground was against it that day but will be more suitable here….will come on a bit for that run after making its seasonal debut in December
NOBLE BEN was 3rd in that race, 23L behind MARKY BOB…..they reoppose on the same terms…..hard to see it reversing the form

The same comment applies to NOBLE BEN,( ground) who was well behind MARKY BOB last time after travelling very well on ground it hates..it will come on for the run, ( 1st run for 2 Yrs) but not the best jumper & I;m not convinced it finds much at the end of its races….has it all to do to turn the form around.

QUEDILLAC
This horse barely gets 3m, so this trip of 2m 5f should be perfect….beat a good field in a point last time & has been winning in Ladies Open races..usually ridden by Gina Andrews,… Rachel King  has here 1st ride on it here.
This is a step up & cant see it coping with MARKY BOB

I would love to see MARKY BOB run like it did last season..if it does, then they will struggle to peg it back around here,

PENMORE MILL

This looks to lie between PENMORE MILL & SHY JOHN.
Both have   very decent P2P form.

PENMORE  MILL Should probably be unbeaten in P2Ps  as it wasn’t right.. (sore shin on his off fore) ..    when meeting its only defeat at the hands of Cheltenham hunter winner DOCTOR KINGSLEY…….a horse that it had previously beaten easily.
At BUCKFASTLEIGH last year PENMORE MILL dead- heated with KEPPOLS HILL   …a horse that really should have won its 1st 3 races for Nicholls…has since fell & finished 2nd to a really decent sort in  Godsmejudge….. again that form is a strong as it gets in the context of this race.

PENMORE MILL  ran a blinder against Cottage Oak on its rules debut in a very strong Hunter Chase last time  despite the ground not really to its liking, ( it was a bog), it   fell at the last when looking tired leaving  SACRED MOUNTAIN  ( runs in the Hunter at KELSO) to finish 2nd.  ……this 20f will suit it better … the majority of point wins have been  on a  decent surface, but handles soft ground…,jumps well in the main  &  will have come on enormously  for that run.
Fully entitled to win this on that hunter  form.

SHY JOHN
Carries the dreaded “Squiggle”

Another one with decent P2P form… but a horse with an “attitude”, it has a high head carriage & has to be produced very late, which always makes things difficult….does’nt do a lot in front so might not find anything if it comes to a battle…..
It has already had 2 runs this season, winning on its seasonal debut, arriving on the bit & winning easily…last time the waiting tactics could have been   overdone,  as it appeared to have been left with too much to do against  2 good pointers in Certain Flight &  Glass’n a half…,  but the race was run in a quicker time than both the open races though…..  A good jumper with fitness guaranteed..

SWALLOWS DELIGHT
Ran  4th in quite a good little point last time, beaten about 17L with Midnight King & Harbour Court in front of it….not sure it wants 20f, & its Hunter form from  last season is not up to winning this,

ROCKLANDSLAD
Been running in Ladies Opens off 11st & winning well…… It was pulled up against THAT’S RHYTHM  last time in a good race…. it needs flat left handed tracks & quick fast ground…..
Even though it had won its last 3 points, before that PU,  it will be struggling here....Trip probably a bit short

This looks like it could be a good race, but I think PENMORE MILL will be too strong for Shy John.
With  Its P2P profile & that  last run in the Hunter Chase against Cottage Oak, PENMORE MILL will take the world of beating  with a clear round & a strong bet for me.

Koi, I don't know why you take the bait from your nemesis each time. Just ignore it. I for one (of many) are very grateful for your opinions and write ups so keep up the good work. For what its worth I have about 4 horses in front of Marky Bob - the only reason it ran so well at Bangor, was because it was ridden by "Yorky". It will be going the "wrong" way round tomorrow and with a different Pilot. It won't complete - I'm sure. Anyway one of us will be right and the other wrong !! It should be about a 5 or 6 to one chance ... we shall see.

have to agree with roo, surely koi you'd be better off getting your bets on and then posting. What if you were to spot something about a horse running in a point that you felt sure the market/bookies wouldn't pick up on, it would be lunacy to post about it before getting your money on.

Koi is in profit on his Hunter Chase selections so his previews are welcome. Why use words like 'clueless' 'ego trip' 'daft' in your post ? Lumponlarge disagrees with koi's thoughts on Marky Bob, but, has responded in a positive manner.
Report Magic__Daps February 27, 2013 9:39 AM GMT
1st time poster - last week you said you wouldn't post on any of kois threads, why can't you just keep to your word or at least out something up against him (remind us what happened last time you done this)?

Koi is in profit on hunters year on year, so what if you don't agree with the selection that is the point of a forum. But to just come on and slate a losing selection AFTER the race is just shocking. I couldn't care if every pick is fav or 2nd fav, the bottom line is profit. All I see from some on here I jealousy and envy. People just hate a winner, who can blame Kohaku for going, who can blame the good blokes leaving?

To all the knockers PUT UP OR SHUT UP, and leave the sly digs out. I wouldn't blame koi if he didn't post another selection up - why bother when the likes of 1st time poster are around, who brings absolutely nothing to this forum. A very sad and bitter individual who probably don't have a friend in the world....

I remember watching Marky Bob at Tweseldown (lovely course, closed ths year) and the conections were just hoping that it would race, having refused previously. Blew the field away and was even more impressive next time at Fakenham. Not sure that Wincanton is the right course for it, but if it runs like it can from the front then I doubt if anything will get near it. I had Quedillac as a doubtful stayer, but was proved wrong in a strange Ladies race at Larkhill (with Description's jumping all over the place). Quedillac is a hold up horse and I can't see those tactics working if MB blazes away. The one everyone seems to overlooking is Jayo, who has some decent form a few years back and finished a decent 2nd in his first point. I'm not in betting mode, but Jayo seems value to me at 9.0 ish.

Enjoy the race.

Report joebroke February 27, 2013 10:16 AM GMT

Report REM February 27, 2013 10:27 AM GMT
I seem to remember that was the day that snowed. Damn wet cold snow.

I was frozen at Badbury this weekend and Larkhill has been grim this year too.

I now have a car full of different hats and gloves and just keep upgrading as it gets colder. When I can no longer look at the race card or my form notes I brew up and start the process all over again.

Of course when the fine weather arrives the ground dries and the horses stay away.

Good to Firm at Badbury on Sunday. Hoping for some rain to prolong the season.

Koi, surely it is better for you if you don't post these previews, unless you think that others feel your views are worthless so won't take any notice of them, which would make the previews pointless anyway? By posting this information, you are giving people a head start on you to nibble away at the price the night before, as you said you only use firms. Therefore, you are causing yourself to obtain a lower price than you might otherwise have been able to obtain, making your posting of previews a negative action. IMO, unless you wait until 11-12 on the day to post your previews, you are harming yourself.

I think that's the slightly kinder way of putting what Roo said.

1st time poster - how many times do we have to ask, where are these 8 from last 10 losers??

A simple question to an obviously simple person, please answer us as we are all waiting.

Regarding koi slating radetsky here is his post, where is this slating as you put it? Looks like some simple analysis of the horse to me but then again you decipher and read his posts how your brain wants to see them.

RADETSKY MARCH
The best horse in the race on form of 2011, but is definitely not one to trust imo….never runs 2 races alike……even the trainer doesn’t know how it will run.
It didn’t jump at all well in the early stages of its run last time out, won easily enough though, but it was a really poor field, the 2nd has let the from down badly.
Will it stay this far??...Sam Drinkwater the best jock in the race, rode it last time, but TBF it had nothing to beat & didn’t really come under pressure….will its jumping hold up if its put to the test.
Finishes  1st/2nd  it will also be qualified for chelt…

I really enjoy Koi's analysis but I don't begrudge 1st time poster his views, indeed I think he is comedy golf sometimes.

After Koi's in depth 3 page analysis of the two races today, his post "for those in a hurry a double on the favs" was a classic.

I am not 100% sure but I do think and I do hope, Koi doesn't take 1TP too seriously and can live with the banter.
