Years ago when I used to unsuccessfully bet on the spreads I was always a seller, if we had a market of people putting their tissues up first I would be a very heavy seller at 6 to 8, do u think I would have made a few quid. |

lol ronnie at 6 i would be a heavier seller than you.
i think a couple could have a go,but i would only fancy one to be able to price up all day without any exchanges in view for anybody,if like the old days the staff from the other books waited for his show they would be f....d on charlie hall and boxing day because he wouldnt get on. |

Gillibrand there’s a blast from the past, betting on the photo evens a dead heat 4 to 5 a short head, evens a head, 4 to 6 a neck, official result wins by half a length, now I'm definitely showing my age. agree jimnast only works at a few tracks imo and more often than not its better with a short un in the race and if its nh .....believe me we have tried it and its hard work although a betting too a better percentage ...remember ronnie and sam dempster made a living for yrs up here in the north and scotland ?

heres a nice story about gillie a friend of mine had an sp office and did quite a bit of phone buissness with a few strong backers,he also did a bit of private laying at the course so was pretty well known to the books back then,in 81 at the festival he layed a big treble i use to remember the first two i cant now but the 3rd was little owl in the gold cup,so news got around about this bet now my pal did plenty on the bet but nowhere near as much as the punter won,but that was unknown to gillie who sent him a blank cheque with a note saying this is to help you out if you need any help settle up when things pick up. |
