Hi slickster, not fishing worked in the racing industry for 30 + years. Iwill write aletter to racing post then contact ibas if no joy but what ever the outcome just trying to give information so that other punters dont lose out when they back a winner? The bet is not gonna make or break me but do believe in justice????????? This is the e-mail i received from Jessica at customer services. Our shop systems are designed to take any bet regardless of if they are in the system or not.It is down to the customer to see if we are taking bets on the event or not,Unfortunately the bet will stand as void.Sorry slickster dont go fishing its boring????????????????

listen there is no way even sads can "void" a bet like this. if you are telling the truth and they wont cough up BRING THEM TO COURT!!!!! they are 100% in the wrong.

Slickster how are they in the wrong if they state in their rules that they don't take bets on the event in question?

(no idea if that is the case or not)

i know you can't call them bookies any more but this is too much. how low can they sink?
the bet was taken. bloke has a few quid on a horse. ooo ooooh it's running in italy. we better void it. pull the other one.

Million to one on that you will get paid if indeed you are not fishing.

How can Ladcocks have a rule stating that they do not take bets on a Group One Event with the card and result published in the Racing Post...

YAWN...

That would mean that they do not take bets on ANY foreign cards printed in that esteemed organ that are not covered by SIS !!!

Time for all backers to demand refunds on French German and Australian racing....

Melbourne Cup and Cox Plate backers form an orderly queue...

Homefortea you need to lose your RP obsession!

You are also missing the point. It is all down to the rules. If they want to include a rule that states that they don't take bets on Cheltenham they would be quite within their rights to void all such bets this weekend regardless of the fact that the RP produced a nice colour Cheltenham pull out and had a picture of Grands Crus on the front cover.

Whether the rules are ridiculous or not is another matter entirely.

Hi slickster have just e-mailed IBAS with my case will let you know the outcome as soon as?As i said in my thread which was pulled for some reason? What betting shop would you ever ask if they were betting on a group 1 in italy which was advertised in the racing post with betting and the result came through with dividends? As far as i know you can bet on any sporting outcome eg boat race whether it will snow on xmas day etc etc etc as yul bryner used to say.

Of course it is all down to Rules Bon Viveur...

That is why the bet was acceptable and if I was a Senior Manager (!) at Ladcocks I would be in despair at the way that my poorly paid ("peanuts" etc) staff interpret them...

Yes Homefortea i agree how many people go in a betting shop and ask are they taking bets on the pardubicia in check republic or santa anita etc.Obviously they are not a bookmakers. Just dont want anyone thinking they have backed a winner when they have not??????????????

The bet was accepted subject to the rules. The fact is that the staff haven't bothered looking at them until later.

Regardless of that is there not someone in a Lads shop now who can have a look at the rules and see if they cover Capannelle and put an end to this sorry tale!

You really must get out more...

To be fair quite a few did.

Thankfully not everyone has had a complete humour bypass. Does that come with old age or were you a frustrated child too?
By:

It has to be a wind up as there is no way that Ladcocks would refuse to pay on a Group One Race that had the card and result printed in the trade paper...
