That was a huge triumph by all accounts! Not quite the overly-optinistic clean sheet one clever herbert called for (yup, that'll be you dsax! ), but not far off - just three unlucky fallers. I've never known anything like it - 29, yes 29, made it safely over fence 2! And you can see the result - a stonking profit for the round and a pretty sizeable one for the race. Keep it up lads - this is beginning to look like a blockbuster!

But let is us first impart our heartfelt sorrow to those who had have sadly departed. You tried to go low (well Virgin was slacking a tad!) but fate had a cruel hand to play and you fell. Hard luck guys. Look forward to seeing you next time.

Right, that's the obits out of the way. Now WELL DONE ALL YOU WINNERS!!! A terrific show. Out in front was our favourite layer and man of letters, (although too few on occasions, leaving us struggling to decipher his cryptic code ), deadbrain59, living up to his champion status by clearing Fog Patches out of the way at 2.3. Not quite up there with yesterday's low but in the ballpark! VWD DB!

Then came the man who kicked off today's proceedings, dsax (you remember, the herbert!) who got Moss Quito beaten at 2.69 in the 1.55. That's what I call great lays!

Not that it was all plain sailing you understand. There were at least four hearts in mouths - including master layer GAVBEN - as Nathaniel steamed to the finishing post in the 4.35 at Ascot looking all over a winner. As his BF price went to 1.01 everyone threw their hands up, some considered various forms of hara kiri, and there was much tears, wailing and gnashing of teeth. But lo, a miracle occured and one of Danedream's whiskers tipped the post first! The thunderous sigh of relief could be heard in Denmark itself!

So on we go to bloody sunday, the layer's nightmare day (after Saturday, Friday etc). You're going to need all your wits about you today, gang, and it is still probably wildly optimistic to hope for a clean sheet. But  there's no harm in trying! Best of luck!
