I don't think any tv presenter has annoyed me more than Matt Chapman, his know all opinions after every race use to make me cringe and want to kick my tv screen in.

Monty Roberts eat your heart out Matt Chapman knows what every horse is thinking, what every jockey is thinking, what every trainer is thinking, every trainer is of course god, every jockey is of course god unless your a journeyman and your fair game, a horse never actually won a race it was of course the trainer and the jockey not the horses superiority?.
Will I miss him?, probably? if only because I won't have to think of nasty things I'd love to do the worlds biggest ego anymore.

He hasn't gone away you know!.

Shirley it should be all about the horses rather than any one individualConfused

Is he leaving the channel completely or is this all about Get On getting the chop?

At first I thought this was a bad joke.

Enough said except to say, whether you loved him or not, he was so good at what he did.

A truly shocking developement.

i think you've got Matt all wrong, silvergreaser....he's a confident, larger-than-life if you will character who thinks the game (prob life) should be fun...he's paid to present and he aint going to **** foot around and sit on the fence cos there's no fun or entertainment in that...

sure he comes out with these things as if he believes them 100% but he's the first to hold his hands up when he's made a right Horlicks of it, when the horse 'he couldnt have on his mind' dots up etc...no way would he seriously compare his knowledge with Monty Roberts, Dermot Weld etc

that's how i take him anyway and, for all he could get hyper on occasion, he usually put a smile on my face at some point during the afternoon in the booth and i'll miss him for that

Duncan he has at times often made me laugh but I find the guy incredibly irratating, he's just too in your face for my liking.

His inability to recognise its called horse racing not trainer racing or jockey racing irritates me the most, or maybe he thinks by bumming up all the jockeys and trainers will make the game more interesting?, the stars are the humans not the dumb animal in Matts eyes, although we all know its the dumb animal who is the real star of the show.

Chapman is a pest and an arrogant twot to boot, when I see his

boat appear on screen I immediately activate the mute button.

All ATR presenters and pundits are shoite, he sadly in my eyes is

the crappiest of them all.  I f he really is going I say good

riddance.

Horse wins by 5L's from the front, horse only won because the jockey grabbed the race by the scruff of the neck, fantastic riding performance in Matts eyes, now lets see, horse has just won by 5L's suggests if the jockey had held it up for a late run the horse would probably have won hard held on the bridle, why is every effing ride some sort of supernatural happening on the jockeys behalf?, eh Matt I think the best horse just won a horse race ffs!.

agree with you there, silvergreaser, but he's working for ATR not Timeform...he's just trying to jazz it up a bit by making the personalities (trainers/jocks) matter....after all, you cant interview a horse!

I'm happy he's going as I never liked him, but I wonder what "Atthebookies" has in store for us now. Maybe Tommo will be previewing all the virtual racing?

Sir Henry has a throat infection and can hardly speak. Yet he is still on Get On to talk to Matt

ENOUGH SAID

Overall I would have more good things than bad to say about Matt, but thought what Sir henry just said was really nice, Matt just thanked him for being on the show when you should be in your sick bed and Sir Henry said well you do these things for a friend. What pure class.

Don't understand what's going on here.  Dave Duggan said last night that Matt is'nt leaving ATR
and will be back with them in their new format.  Who on earth is talking about him leaving!!

Why do people like Kal84 continue with the 'at least he has an opinion/tells it like it is' type comments which are untrue. When has he ever questioned a poor ride from Fallon or Spencer or had anything negative to say about Gordon Elliot? He says it like it is when it's an apprentice of foreign jockey but says nothing when it one of his 'mates'. I've no respect for people like this who feign false modesty but are up their own behinds. Making a big deal out've a change in format just to get synpathy from people is a new low for him.

The reality is that anyone who is outspoken about the leading protagonists in the game wouldn't be in the job for long.

Chapman always gave me the impression that his ambition was to become a Cleb in the Big Mac mould. ATR was just the vehicle that enabled him to audition for the presenters role in a day time quiz programme.
