GT is more likely to be charged with wasting police time than persuading them to look at RP`s headline.

It remains a fact, however, that RP`s front page was dishonest and deceitful.

Just a thought, why not boycott buying the paper.

Which I think has already started reading A`D thread earlier in the week.

If you get a petition together on some government site & it reaches a certain figure, doesn't it have to be discussed in the house of commons ??

Or have I been "In the SHED to long"  CrazyTongue OutSilly

I gave namir last week at 14/1 1pt e/w he drifted like a barge and won at 28/1 but I counted it as a 14/1 winner as thats what I recommended 14/1

they must think punters are idiots well maybe just the lemons Grin

They didnt like winners being tipped more regular than their own hacks, even putting them up in the early hours they were taken down pronto.Ended up putting them on Steve Dennis's blog and even that was policed at times.

It is a crying shame the way the paper has gone, the only ones left worth their salt are Jim Cremin and Steve Dennis. They even stopped Steves blog despite it becoming the most poular part of the site.........or maybe it was because of its success?

The biggest result this action might result in is a fine for you for wasting police time.

Having seen the type of things that the CPS decline to prosecute for not being in the public interest ie the money could be better spent investigating and prosecuting elsewhere, you are a million for anyone to spend even 1 minute looking at this.

If you are lucky they may be polite and tell you to contact the ASA.

Banned banks,I dont give a monkeys if it gets no further than a CPS clerks desk, the RP now know that they will have to think twice about pulling a similar stroke in future.

Btw there is no such offence as wasting police time in reporting a crime.hthWink

I'm not fussed either way but don't kid yourself that it will even reach a CPS clerks desk. The work experience kid at the police station will look at it and file it in the bin as a non criminal complaint.

The RP won't even be contacted.

It would be nice to think that all complaints are seriously considered and investigated however the reality is a million miles from that. There are plenty of genuine crimes that don't attract police resources so your submissions is a total non runner.

Ask anyone who deals with police and the CPS in terms of trying to get prosecutions through and they will give you some horror stories about what gets knocked back.

Banned Banks, the first definition I had to learn at the beginning of my Law studies was the Theft Act 1968.Since those distant days I have prosecuted and convicted on lesser offences than this, civilian and military.

Actually there is. Under the Criminal Law Act you could be prosecuted for this offence if you make a false report.

Not suggesting that applies here but it can in some cases.

Suggest you read that again,I said there is no offence of wasting police time in REPORTING A CRIME.

Even if someone reported what they thought was a crime that turned out not to be they would not be prosecuted, only if it was false, misleading or malicious.

Maybe a very long time ago. Not today.

As I said earlier you are a million. With cases such as this the police won't spend 2 mins looking at it. It is so ridiculously low level they won't waste any resources on it. Even if they accepted there was a problem they would just pass it to the ASA. You might as well send it straight there yourself.

Ask yourself this - if the issue you are reporting is considered to be a crime then do you also agree that virtually all advertising is criminal?

I undersand your frustrations however you are badly misguided here.

I'm pretty sure that is exactly what I said.
