Serious message, an average punter looks at the form and backs what he thinks will win. Because most people (including me) don't consistently win picking horses like this, what about the strategy of doing the form, working out what you think will win and then laying it?
Do your form figs/ratings if 1/2 well clear on your figs yet not in the first 2 in the betting usually worthy of a lay e. g. yesterdays first race at Newbury I had Captain Dunne/Medicean Man both well clear both drifted in the market last/second last or as near as dammit.good luck for to-day.

If this worked in general (and not saying either way whether it does or doesn't) then surely you could even save yourself doing anything by just finding a rubbish tipster, be it from a newspaper or otherwise and just lay all of their tips.

It would work for many people as the number of favourites that get beaten proves. In the 3 afternoon cards yesterday, 13 favs started at 3/1 or lower and 2 won at 10/11 and 2/1.
