If that forecast comes to pass it will be off.Three nights at - 4C resulted in Sandown being off last week. The covers won't protect against -6C.

Quote from Nicky Henderson ...
via Press Association site

He said: "AP and I both walked round the track this morning and we're happy. They've done a great job of covering and I don't envy the job of taking the covers off! The course looks in great nick and to be fair you could race on the Flat track today, which is not covered, it's that good and there is a nice strip of new ground on both the hurdle and chase courses.

Looking good Whoops

iamajambo,When it comes to frost covers please don't compare Newbury or Cheltenham to other courses. These lads know what they are doing,i.e when to cover and how to cover.Neither of these courses have lost a meeting to frost since they started using the covers in 2006. If newbury is off this weekend it will be down to snow not frost, lets hope the snow misses newbury.

I live a 10 minute walk away and I don't think it's gonna go ahead to be honest. If it does, great. But I can't see it unfortunately. And the weather has been much worse than you guys mentioned. It reached -6 the other night, with possibilities of worse to come!

Latest forecast - below feezing from Friday evening right through to Saturday afternoon and touching lows of -7C.

If this is right there is no chance but forecasts are not always right.
