You need to calm down Megsy (Aus) as has been pointed out is meaningless as is (USA) or any other prefix.
All trace back to Godolphin,Darley Arabian and Byerley Turk,mostly bred to English mares and where the modern thoroughbreds are all descended from. Btw GT has you hook line and sinker,PRINTERS should have been the obvious giveaway. Tbf it is not a given that all great Aussie printers can be traced back to the UK although it is 1.01 that William Caxton had an influence.hth  |

There hasn't been a great Austrailian racehorse,sire or dam but i have to say that there has been some truly great Australian Jockeys. Scobie Breasley and Ganet Bougoure had no peers imo. Granted it stared to go downhill from Brent Thomson onwards but nether the less i can't think of two many countries that have produced as many top class Jockeys. I'm not asking this in a funny way topfarrier but are you Australian yourself? The only reason I ask is that I found your comment about not too many other countries have produced as many top class jockeys a little surprising and thought maybe it was due to you knowing Aussie racing best and not knowing too much about jockeys from other countries. Unless it was just a fishing trip.  |
