Report flyingbolt • October 15, 2011 4:12 PM BST
Ok, Duvauchelle. Enlighten me with your superior eyesight and tell how the feck you consider that horse was "unsighted".
Report Twoboyz • October 15, 2011 4:14 PM BST
I can confirm it was 3 lenghts. 0.63 sec
Report Duvauchelle • October 15, 2011 4:37 PM BST
well ok so after looking at the reply, after I had calmed down he wasnt as close up to the leader as I thought but he still was not 3 lengths behind - 2 at the most,ok so your not blind totally, you just need corrective vision. The reason he was "unsighted" was at 2 lengths behind travelling at near 30mph he was about 1/2 second off the fence directly behind the leader so he wouldnt have seen much of the fence for very long, and he had the horse on the wrong stride.
I have always thought the old measurement was 0.24 secs per length over chases and flat between 0.18 and 0.2

lost count of number reminders, led to a moments hesitation, resulted in tallywaggers unusual title for a thread

0.2 per length on good ground or quicker over jumps
0.25 per length on softer than that over jumps
