There is no way on earth by today's standard Davis somehow found improvement we havnt seen in 15 years to reach the qaurter finals at 53 years of age. I knew it was too good to be true :(

Game been**and rigged for donkeys.
Can't believe anyone would bet on it since the 70s. |
By:
errrrrrr, higgins not been accused of fixing any matches. it was for a future event. and lots make money from betting snooker.

errrrrrr, higgins not been accused of fixing any matches. it was for a future event. and lots make money from betting snooker. ^ I concur Mr Higgins is a model citizen above reproach ;\ |
By:
and it was for the world series of snooker, an event betfair barely bother with and few books bet on.
By:
have betfair singled out the davis match for any dodgy bets does anyone know
By:
Why would he need to be bribed for future events if he can be beaten by a 53yo part timer when he is supposedly trying?
By:
he must be innocent....there aint 300;000 euros in the ukraine.
By:
someone must have told the news of the world they could get him think it will be a jockey next time
By:
loper, that davis result was down to 2 things. 1) davis played massively above the standard he's been at last couple of years. 2) higgins played massively below his usual standard. he has otherwise been the most consistent player over the last 2 seasons.
By:
My point exactly, The Optician.
How can a so consistent performer play so badly??? |
By:
i really dont know loper. i follow the game a bit and i was shocked by the davis result. maybe this was all filmed a while back i.e not when the news of the world claim and it had been preying on his mind, he was pretty poor in the 1st round against barry hawkins and was also poor in the event before the worlds in china. he also played incredibly poorly in 1 of his world series events he set up (and was supposedly going to chuck few frames in the future), tho i think that was down to a lack of practice. also played poorly in the masters (but he has never played well in the new wembley arena), but inbetween he was absolutely superb in winning the welsh open. all very baffling and disturbing.

After 34-year-old Higgins' shock defeat in the tournament at the hands of veteran Steve Davis, he flew to the Ukrainian capital of Kiev and in a meeting with undercover News of the World investigators on Friday shamelessly:
By:
Was he going to draw his cash, Warrackhunt?
By:
perhaps he mixed up kiev and his spanish home.
By:
was the meeting booked before he lost to davis - no wonder he lost ,he couldnt get out of there quick enough.
By:
John Higgins was a fine jockey and rode many a good winner, particularly for Ron Mason. I'm surprised to hear of his involvement with the Ukraine mafia.
