Well here goes, make or break on the first leg.
My two selections are 1) BRUNSTON, was somewhat of a fortunate winner last time, with others getting troubled runs. Even so it was his first run since last July and I expect the extra furlong and the uphill finish to play more to his strengths than what was the case at Newbury. Acts on good to firm and good to soft so no worries if any rain. 2) ITHINKBEST, this selection is a more speculative one. He showed very little at the start of last season but steadily improved and produced his best effort last time. His trainer is a master with these older type horses and he could prove to be very well treated. Also, if Ryan Moore gets down to the advertised weight, it will be his lowest for over 12 months and would be a tip in itself. Well they're my selections and my reasoning. There were a couple more I could have thrown in but the perm would have cost a fortune. Hope we're all standing after this one. Good Luck |
