lukehart , you talk a lot of sense about the ir playing , but a fair system to all would be nice . but money always talks , in every part of life .

tutan of course it would and to be truthful if a level playing field was created, the majority of the big winners would do the same

However the liquidity would be 10 fold, and they would have to work a little harder for the win.

tutan the problem as I see it an inquiry that will take place at some time, will show a few in power in a bad light only the technical principal of the case keeps it in the are.
Those getting massive money should do some gardening, for i am concerned, of changes, in the weather that could through up an amazing storm.

Not as slow as it used to be, cable used to be 4.5 seconds behind Sky, now it's only 1.5 seconds behind.

Cable used to be level with Sky up until November 2005. From then until the end of September 2009 it was 4.5 seconds behind Sky.

I suppose life has to be fair , if the bookies are paying zillions to have Turf t.v. in their shops . Why should the guy sat at home have it for 20 a month , must pay the same zillions or suffer the delaysssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. Life is a beach .

Turf Tv is a commercial service for bookmakers, it is not intended to be a service for in-running players to fleece people with slower pics. RUK claims to be a premium channel, their pics should be as fast as possible if that is the case.

lets hope i never hear bookies saying betfair is costing the levy again, but of course we hear it every day, it seems competition and markets forces only applies when it suits them

must be all that fiber optic cable they are laying now , supposed to be faster then the speed of light

Seeing as it's actual LIGHT that travels through fiber optic cables, I doubt it's going to be any faster than itself!

jack . I believe Turf tv is available for home use now at zillions , but at least the 20 we pay to Ruk is better value to its counterpart Atr with their snail pace SIS service .

The only difference now than in 1973 "The Sting" Film
It is no longer complicated.
By:

When: 20 Apr 10 15:43
Is that right? That would explain why RUK are not interested in providing faster pics.
By:

When: 20 Apr 10 15:58
Jack , it is very complicated to explain everything on here . If you want to know about Turf tv and how is works , look at the company called Alphameric Plc which owns them and who are not having the best of times themselves .

When: 20 Apr 10 16:04
i dont think turf tv is available to home users,it certainly wasnt,i actually spoke to alan moecombe a couple of years ago about it,he was very keen for as tutan states alphameric need the money but their license with the tracks doesnt permit it.

Alan Morcome , ceo left the company on 28 feb of this year on leaving he said " I have enjoyed my time at Alphameric and leave the business in excellent shape. The last three years have been noteworthy with the emergence of TurfTV establishing a significant new profit stream for the group. The Alphameric team is a good one and I wish the Company every success."

yes i was aware of that, however i cant see what that has to do with a home service.
By:

If you aware of his leaving , you should be aware it has a home service.
By:

When: 20 Apr 10 16:26
well i wasnt and have never seen it advertised,if there is one why dont they market it as we both agree they need the money,i was even talked into buying a few shares in alphameric, not the best investment i have ever made.

I hope you did not buy at the 88p mark when all the brokers were ramping it up as a takeover target , now around 26p .

Betfair should buy up the company.
By:

When: 20 Apr 10 16:40
not that bad,51 i think, never really bothered with shares, and obviously now dont know why i bothered,as it was never going to be a big deal whichever way they went for the amount i bought,in fact i only remember i have got them when alphameric are in the news.

Jack , at present valuation the company is only worth 63 million , would be a cheap purchase . Weather the monopolies commission allow it , I have no idea .

bf too backwardly mobile with regard existing horse racing markets, they have no reason to get involved (which I doubt theyd be allowed) as things stand and are more interested in profiteering via premium tax than actually developing these ops, and they could well be awaiting developments in the USA with regard deregulation which would be their golden ticket imo
By:
tutan
When: 20 Apr 10 17:03
Dusty , every British company that has forayed it the US market has failed abismally , on paper you think you have a golden ticket but in practice it never works . Even the mighty Tesco which has announced astronomical profits today has failed with their american adventure . I can think of 10 other big failures in that market , m&s etc . Do not know the reasoning , but when they come over here , their companies boom .
By:

When: 20 Apr 10 17:06
if US market is de-regulated soon would explain why they bought TVG a few yrs back.
