maxed.agree to most of what you said,but my gripe is on the big meetings when people are queueing to bet,most bookies think its a midweek meeting like for example at beverley with the exchange show o the board,dont they realise they would have better books with a bit more % in the book.

i hear mr fletcher is getting a bit of a name for himself regarding %.but he genuinely seems to know (and constantly win)how he his doing it.good luck to him.

Len Dcosta was betting in the back line at Warwick when a punter came to him and asked for a 66/1 to £50 EW
Len was shown by his tick tack 100/1 in 2 places and the Bookie next door was going 150.this Bookie heard the bet struck and re assessed it to 33.
Len bet him,
Told his tick tack to have £20 at 150

His book read at the off £1200 over broke, in the win. and had forgotten the place bet,
It got beat a short head at 14/1

racecourse regular there was always plenty of room in the 4h line on the aways.

Leslie Steele in the North, Graham Green in the Midlands, and Dudley in the South I always respected.

Betting next to would be somebody who attracts crowds. In about 1967 I saw John Banks betting the back row in the Epsom Spring Meeting. The crowd round him was so big, the ones either side and in front were picking up some surplus without tugging.

Not sure I would want to bet on course at all these days.

wumpkins.fletcher used to be one of the best for betting next door to,he would play the game and bet sweet.but this last couple of years he just takes everything.he will think nothing of betting to 104% on a 12 runner race.he seems thick skinned also.
