bloodbath? really? henderson winners must have been expensive but outsider won the big one, mixed otherwise surely?
By:
14/1 this morning. outsiders were 50+.
winner was also scottish. |
By:
lol how many punters knew that. i was there very few knew which way round they were going.
very messy by the end of the day. when will these woman realise it is april in scotland not july in the south of france. |

Was carnage for the 3 books i spoke to,they had given up after the National.Everyone was wanting to lay Merigo ,it looked far to short ,how wrong could they be.
By:
i actually backed merigo for a few quid :) but on here(mind you backed 3 others too). even i was surprised it won tho. can't have been an awful result. gone to lunch placing not great i assume but surely no bloodbath. friday must have gone ok for them too? mind you 4 scottish trained winners.
are bookmakers prone to exaggeration? surely not? |

Why are all the **ey results following me around? :^0

Feels like that sometimes Paddy. Decided to leave Donny out last night - 7 race card, 6 winning races plus a 2/7F (level). Fairly typical of my choosing of laste.

surprised and disappointed at the number of books who were 1/5 odds in the national at Ayr yesterday
By:
Ayr Bookies 1/5th Odds and it was a bloodbath, omfg ;-)
By:
Betfair layers offer 1.01 about 10/1 shots. Shock horror scandal...the outraged nation holds it's breath! Yet it happens every day on every race. Do you hear people complaining, or calling them all crooks?
And we weren't ALL 1/5th the odds in thw scottish National. Try looking around a bit! :D |
By:
3 books at thirsk betting on scottish national all 1/4 1-2-3-4

Well said Paddy
By:
there must be approx '95% of all punters who haven't a clue about odds be it win or especially e/way .
By:
All bookmakers should be made to bet to regulation place terms on course, that should be a priority for thr racing for change people then punters would not get stiffed by the**bookies
By:
there must be approx '95% of all punters who haven't a clue about odds be it win or especially e/way .
Would say it was nearer 99% at Ayr yesterday, there was a lot of punters wanting paid place on the third placed horse in every race |

What is a result like, first five favs won alpraham point today,Looks like i will have to sell that grandfather clock half price!!
By:
Make that six favs!!
By:
It is because most punters haven't a clue that bookies should be far heavier regulated, to be fair most ring bookies are doing a good job and just want to make a living like anyone else, it is the bad bookies, the big office bookies who manipulate the markets and the hordes of unliscenced tipsters that blight the game. imvho of course
By:
result last race 5s into 3s,only six favs today.Cant wait for hexham tomorrow!.On a positive note perth for the craic!

By:
i had seen the rabbit betting at a trotting meeting 7-8years ago he was standing horses for a nice few pound then i seen him at kelso a year a go with an old bloke on the computer,i think he was a failed bookie and he was stoping rabbit from laying bets, mite of been the old blokes cash.

must have been very good in the new betting area round by the paddock.
No 1 in tatts took No 1 pick both days. £430 EXTRA ON FRIDAY £750 EXTRA ON SATURDAY LOOK OUT 2012 |
By:
roy777? who will be the next course to dare implement such a policy, might come hard to those who have brought up the list in some of the southern rings on the strength of inside info with a view to new betting areas being created, only then to be asked to cough up another £500 a meeting......

Ayr Bookies? Beting to a fifth the odds in large field handicaps like the scots national, now that is a national disgrace!
further, a gutless crew of bookmakers who do not stand up to the track when it moves the ring en bloc to earn itself more cash and sets a bad precedent country wide. sure i'dlike to bet on the 4th floor at Ascot, but it would kill the existing ring. I have zero respect for those who bet at Ayr |

By:
RACECOURSE REGULAR..I THINK THE TOTAL OPPOSITE WILL HAPPEN,LESS AND LESS BOOKS ATTENDING MIDWEEK AT THE MO,AND THE REASON BEING,CAN LAY THEM SHORTER SAT AT HOME(LIKE ALL THE UNLICENSED LAYERS ON HERE).RACECOURSES WILL HAVE TO DROP THE PRICE OF THE BADGE TO STAND,FACT.ROLL ON 2012
By:
only problem with that truth is when they are usually shorter on here they are guaranteed tries and win so u end up doing ur dough
By:
agree that what the ayr bookies have done has set a dangerous precedent but from what i believe the racecourse had made the ring so bad that they had very little option and dont think if pick1 doesnt go in then pick 51 wont either,oh and btw they dont pay £750 to then go and give the public a better deal they pay it so they can then bet to 2% a runner to make sure their investment pays off.

Aintree grand national meeting will be a prime suspect along with the big meetings at YORK, CHESTER, HAYDOCK, DONCASTER etc etc |

1/5th the odds in a 30 runner Handicap where they bet to 135 anyway. Come racing

ribero
2% per runner = good for bookies 2% per runner = bad for punters 2% per runner = less punters and less money |
