it's not that he wasn't trying, he was just thinking long-term, wants the horse to enjoy his racing rather than giving him a hard time to get the money. he'll come on leaps and bounds for that run. |

@ end of the day he could have won that without having to give the horse a hard race. what about smullen who was gaining on the leaders hand over fist before running into a wall? |

i don't agree. horse didn't pick up straight away. defo needs further/stronger pace. i think O'Brien will be happy with that performance. |

I don't think there's any doubt that O'brien will be pleased with the race.

jockey and trainer are happy with the run, punter gets shafted, has this happened before?

thought the horse spooked itself a bit when it came with the initial burst and did n't want to go through with it, then he righted himself and ran on again.
Clearly a nice animal - not too surprising an effort from an inexperienced horse. Would n't blame the jockey myself but can see how some would see it that way. |
