i watched about 20 of ruk "s online mark your card one day last week and i dont think he got any of the races he previewed right

To answer Cardiff perhaps the races DN was reviewing he didn't have an opinion on, or was prepared to put his money down. You should judge him on the races he bets on that is the best guide. Actually there are over 30 races today but I am only betting in 1.

nothing against the guy but a lot of pro punters do seem to have other jobs writing books , newspapers , tv work , nothing wrong with making your money , but do me a favour

but he gets the races so badly wrong............he completly dissmissed dick turpin..........never mentioned the winner puff and the scotish national winner was even given a mention..........a couple of weeks ago he got a race confidendly down to 3(first 3 in the market)...........nothing else could win................one of his 3 scrambled into to third

I read his book and tbh I didn´t think much of it. But what I did agree with is that you should always look for value ie only back horses that are trading at bigger odds than you think they should be, even if you don´t necessarily think they will win.
I know that sounds illogical but the extra odds compensates for the fact that we, every punter, will get it wrong sometimes. If we only back horses that are trading at bigger odds than we think their real chance is then we will win in the long run. I´ll give you an example: Yesterday I thought a horse called Michigan D´Isop would win at Bangor. In my tissue I had Sagalyrique at 6-4 and MD at 3-1 and I left bets on BF looking for 4+ on MD. When the race came along, however, MD was 6-4 and Sagalyrique went out to 6 so I backed Sagalyrique (with a saver rfc). Of course my original fancy might have won and I would have been a bit sick but I will not back horses when they trade at shorter odds than they should be - even when you have your share of winners you will lose in the long run. On that point Nevison is completely correct imo. Well it has worked for me for the last 5 years anyway. |
