Joe wouldn't ride him first time out, Brian Proctor rode him. Bit of a maniac until he was gelded and for a while after. Top class sprinter. Lady Beaverbrook's.

Quite a few former Abernant winners would be the current crop of 'much of a muchness' so-called 'group class' sprinters.
He must have been one of the first winners for the Hern/Carson combination.

Didn´t Tromos´Greek owners have a few good ones with Bruce Hobbs around that time? And then nothing.
Lady Beaverbrook used to like naming most of her horses using seven letters. Can't remember one called Aroused though.

Tromos was favourite to win the boat race in the spring of 79
George Cambanis (Black with white spots) had many horses with Bruce Hobbs.
Stilvi was a real good sprinter for him and was the dam of Tromos, Tachypous and Tolmi. (I think)

Tromos......was a huge 2-y-o if I remember rightly...a man among boys at the time
did he used to joust with vaigly great and double bloom or was that a few years prior?
Alex Bird was disappointed after he decided Tromos could not be be 2,000G

I doubled Tromos with One In a Million for the Guineas Antepost. Tromos well beaten in the Craven, never heard of again, the other won.

Today's Abernant Official ratings - 106 - 105 - 105 - 104 - 103 - 102 - 99 and even a 45 !
