don't push it...opened up at 10.30 a.m. ......20/1
bet on the race till 1.00p.m.....still 20/1 [ by then a loser for £800 ]
opened again after race 4....still 20/1
eventually forced to 16/1..and after the horses reached the start cut it to 14/1...i didn't want any more..was 14/1 on my board at the off.
not one person backed it with me at less than 16/1..[ i lost £1160 on the race]
so where do i bet..i'm number 10 in the tatts ring.

How come the Beeb wera saying after the race that big three lost ten million each on a race with an over round of 155%. Do Garry and John not understand the market?

It might be 155% but customers don't bet to those percentages. It could be 255%, but if the punters all back the winner the bookie loses.

my last show was 14/1 with no exchange to work with(went down again at a good time)made my book the old fashion way and hedged back at 16/1 just before the off,i dont know where the sp return came from,the only thing i can think of is that the smaller sp helped the off course bookies

toronto have you seen when Man united players all crowd around the ref to try and get a decision, thats what Billys and lads reps and workman do when it looks like something they want returned 10 is looking like being returned 14.

laddies backed it 2 win £220k with those in the sp ~ hence a return of 10/1
we were also 14/1 on the off and only won £1263.70 !!! |

over 4 £62.50 plus a monkey approx in the place market 2 reasons 1)the regit influence 2) junior in charge I would have done £700 in and played a draw after after places ! |

I find it possible that the McCoy horse was backed in and OK as it happens that wins.
But it is the fact that just about everything shortened in the 30 mins or so before the off that sticks in the gullet. |

hi jimnast,as you know thats the way it goes sometimes,just looked at my figures from last year,business down quite considerably although more or less the same numbers of bets the first 2 days,although 500 down today,i suspected this year might be harder than last re the recession,if aintree is anthing to go by i might be right,hope not,not complaining though just an observation.
