We were thinking the same!
I don’t recall a Guineas field like this without a short priced fav, before this gamble it was 8/1 behind Bow Echo |

Did he not say something similar about Caravaggio, the horse with a delicate toe? That horse missed a few appointments too, I believe.

FOYLESWAR • March 16, 2026 5:02 PM GMT yeah the hype machine in full swing but on the bright side albert e will make the market for others still too early for me to form an opinion but will keep an eye on the markets. Yes I was going to put a thread up saying how rare it is not to have a clear favourite, just before the hype, it was 8/1 the field. So own up who’s backing old Albert to get from A to B without disappearing into a wormhole?! ![]() |

ive had a few quid on hidden force ew , not beaten much in 2 softish races but did it well and unbeaten ,on ratings has at least a stone to find but is unexposed and is following a similar path to notable speech who won the same kempton race then won the guineas later in the season ,as said plenty to find but its a pattern the yard know well . room for plenty of improvement and could be anything 25/1 with the firms and when asked if the horse would get further he said he has plenty of speed and id be happy to stick to a mile for now .

"All the main horses, everything has gone well for them. From the Guineas horses the number one at the moment is Albert, he's done very well physically. He's big and powerful and very rapid.
"We won't know if he's going to get the mile until we do it. The stride people, the heart people, the pedigree people, everyone says that he will get a mile, he's a very quick thinker. "He's rapid to do anything, he's quick to leave the stalls and very quick into his stride. We're not going know and we're not going to search to find out because we don't want to wake him up too much |

From the description of AOB about the horse it's pushing it to get a mile. I thought AOB is a top class trainer.

ive had a few quid on hidden force ew , not beaten much in 2 softish races but did it well and unbeaten ,on ratings has at least a stone to find but is unexposed and is following a similar path to notable speech who won the same kempton race Interesting selection Foyles, they knew that they had the beating of the second Venetian Prince through their Dewhurst runner Distant Storm. I’ve my eye on a couple and hope that another Godolphin recruit might throw their hat into the ring, you also know I wrote about Publish before the gamble. I’m waiting to see entries for the trials, I’m not totally convinced with the head carriage for Publish but he’s in the right hands and was beaten by the right horse in Bow Echo. There’s enough in the formlines through Andab to Albert to warrant taking him on, that and never having raced over further than 6f. Andab 5 runs 1 win 1 2nd 1 3rd 2/7 btn 2½L Rayif 9-1 6/10 btn 3¼L Zavateri 9-6 4/20 btn 3¾L Gstaad 9-3 3/6 btn 1½ Albert Einstein (Finished behind Do or Do Not twice amongst those races above so gives the form some look of being creditable) |

By:
there must be big doubts about albert staying aiden saying he is so quick ,commonwealth cup may be a better bet before the gns if any of the firms are betting on it this far out .

Did they not compare one of their good ones to Frankel? I thought that was wishing thinking. Frankel is a freak.

Anyone remember this going into Ascot?
I’m wondering where the fiddle is here for the 2000 for certain connections… Aidan O'Brien-trained Coventry favourite Albert Einstein ruled out of Royal Ascot Reporter Catherine Macrae Published on 2 June 2025inRoyal Ascot Last updated 21:16, 2 June 2025 Coventry Stakes favourite Albert Einstein will miss Royal Ascot after Coolmore announced he has suffered a setback. The Wootton Bassett colt was as short as 6-4 with bookmakers for the Group 2 contest but will now have three weeks of reduced work after spraining a joint in the build-up to the royal meeting. |
|
By:
From the same Article
O'Brien's best hope now looks to be Charles Darwin, who was last seen making all to win the same 5f contest won by River Tiber in 2023 prior to his Coventry success. So how did Gassd end up there? |

'Very, Very Fast' Albert Einstein To Miss Royal Ascot With Sprained Joint
Monday, June 2, 2025 at 8:54 am Albert Einstein, who Aidan O'Brien labelled 'a very, very fast horse' after his G3 Marble Hill Stakes success at the Curragh, will miss Royal Ascot due to a sprained joint. The unbeaten colt headed the G2 Coventry Stakes betting at odds of 6-4 prior to Monday's announcement on X by Coolmore Stud. “Gr.3 Marble Hill Stakes winner Albert Einstein unfortunately will not run at Royal Ascot due to a sprained joint. He will have an easy three weeks,” the quote, which was attributed to O'Brien, read. Connections of Albert Einstein thought long and hard about allotting such a lofty name. Following that Marble Hill Stakes triumph, where the son of Wootton Bassett showed a smart turn of foot to overhaul Power Blue, O'Brien revealed that the colt's name had been changed on multiple occasions to match the opinion in which he was held at home at Ballydoyle. He said, “Every time we named him I think Sue [Magnier] maybe thought the name wasn't good enough for him. I wasn't even sure what his name was because it was changed so many times. I'm delighted for the lads and he's very exciting.” Who was who in all this re naming? ![]() ![]() |
|
By:
very very fast , breeders and pedigree people say he will get the mile , gotta be a big doubt imo, also got war front in the pedigree some of those dont improve much 2nd season iirc.

Hey Foyles I’m wary to write him off but at the same time also don’t trust this lot when there’s a narrative been laid down as has been done so here.
From the above we can see that Albert was to be replaced by Darwin in the Coventry, yet another runner from the stable (a third string?) Gstaad was able to conveniently slot in and take the race. The well named (if we’re going on the theme of famous people) Charles Darwin was able to drop back to the minimum trip and take the Norfolk. What’s all this tell us? For me it says that they have an abundance of talent and quick horses! They are telling us that Albert is the number one but why not Charles? Both colts have been given important names from the past. Racing is about pedigrees etc and we all know about Darwin’s theory of natural selection. I see that he’s entered for the Irish 2000 ![]() After last year and the stories and apparently botched handling of The Lion In Winter being the numero uno but running over the wrong trips I’m waiting for more than talk! |
|
By:
I know that many don’t like these stories but I believe that it’s important to refresh our memories on what actually happened way back then during last summer.
Within the talk there are snippets of truth amongst the misleading stories that are woven to add an element of confusion to us who are outside the click. Aidan O'Brien warns big guns Lake Victoria and Albert Einstein might not run again this season Royal Ascot winner and Nunthorpe favourite Charles Darwin has also suffered a setback Published on 19 July 2025inIreland Aidan O'Brien has revealed two of his biggest guns could miss the remainder of the season, with Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Lake Victoria and the massively hyped Albert Einstein both suffering setbacks. Albert Einstein was talked about in glowing terms by O'Brien after Gstaad's victory in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, with the Ballydoyle trainer unequivocal as to which horse he felt was the best juvenile in the yard. The son of Wootton Bassett has been the ante-post favourite for next year's 2,000 Guineas and Derby ever since. He has won both starts but has not been seen since landing the Group 3 Marble Hill Stakes at the Curragh in May and it is looking unlikely that he will race again in 2025. “It’s similar with Albert Einstein so we’ll see with him, but he’ll obviously be staying around for next year.” O'Brien also threw into doubt the immediate future of another top juvenile when revealing that Charles Darwin has also suffered a setback. The Norfolk Stakes winner is 5-2 favourite for the Nunthorpe on August 22, but O'Brien said: "He's had a little setback as well. We had to ease off of him last week. "He's a big horse and with those horses once they've had two or three runs they're educated for next year then. If they come back and run again fine, but if they don't it's not a problem." Anyone else find that last line interesting? And/Or find it strange that both had setbacks? We can see that Albert set back or no setback had done enough for the year it’s going to be interesting to see where all these and Gstaad end up, PRico etc too. |
|
By:
not writing him off but i wouldnt be backing anything under 10/1 ante post at this point , he wmay well win the guineas but he is too short atm and likely to get shorter given the hype ,i will prob back a few at big prices and hopefully.

In the SL they did a preview of horses to follow, did you see? They mentioned Apps Kings Trail but no mention of your fancy.
That (KT) seems very weak however. The entries especially for the Craven are going to be very interesting, to where and how he separates all 4 of his entries. Notable Speech ran again in April before the Guineas, I’d hope that Hidden Force misses the Craven personally and that Talk Of New York (being fit and an April foal) also goes for that to soften the others up. (Just watched the races on tube) |
|
By:
Why would I like to see the craven skipped?
For me it’s not a positive going into the Guineas, the best performances tend to be from horses having their first run there that year, something potentially gets left behind in the Craven. It’s just my recollection over the years, I’ve seen plenty of impressive Craven winners (last years winner Field of Gold a prime example) and it’s always paid to stand your ground and go against them. Since 2004 Only Haafhd And Masar 2028 Have done the double. Master of The Seas went close to winning the Guineas in ‘21 when second to Poetic Flare. Interestingly both Masar and Master of the Seas were well beaten at long odds on in prep races held in Dubai. Talk of New York (an April foal) was beaten @ 4/9 in the Jumeirah 2000 recently. If history repeats he’ll be in the Craven with Hidden Impact the joker in the wings and a switch from Buick. The only twist is where Morris Dancer goes? |
