Dear God you are clueless. Champion 2 year old and defeated only once in his career. Economics team running scared at Epsom coz they knew COT would batter him and now the boys are going to try something harder than Frankel ever did in winning in the USA. Calandagan gets within a length or 2 at York with a Group 1 horse miles back and Al Riffa waters the track in Germany with a short distance defeat at the hands of Ace Impact last year and finishing behind COT at Sandown. Go racing lads and smell the grass coz all I can smell from you lot is utter BS.

A non-event if FoG is an absentee. It does look like that at present courtesy of Ombudsman for reasons only connections are privileged to.

This yer we’ve had two races where we’ve had rematches. (The Lockinge and the King George). The market has been dominated by those who were thought to fight out the finish again.
Both races one of the principals has failed to fire. This years Juddmonte is being seen the same, a rematch between Ombudsman and Delacroix. Different track and a different day. Looking back at the Eclipse, the question is do you trust the form?  |

I think if FoG is an absentee here it's more likely than not he'd be retired to stud duty at the end of this season. However, in the event of an unfortunate defeat today in The Sussex it will once again "encourage" connections to go for a redemption here.

Another element of the Aga Khan Studs, Daryz (3 years), could however defend the interests of the team at the summit of the Ebor Festival: 'Daryz remained in the list of entries for the Juddmonte International. It is possible that he will go there, because we are quite tempted. Everything will depend on his work during the coming weeks. It would be the first attempt at the Group 1 level, and the first trip for the one who is unbeaten in four outings on our soil.

He’s 12/1 for the Arc not having yet won a G1 or raced over 12f & 12/1 for York.
What some of did know and see is that he’s a colt that likes fast ground and 10f. |

The Japanese colt completed his final piece of work yesterday and is, “leading up to quarantine smoothly." He will depart from Narita Airport on August 5.

Daryz is getting closer and closer to the International Stakes (Gr. I)
The unbeaten Daryz (3 years old) is seriously considering the prestigious International Stakes (Gr.I) on 20 August in York. In the coming weeks, the tricolor Daryz (3 years old) could well challenge the world elite of thoroughbreds in intermediate distance at the International Stakes (Gr .I – 2.080 meters), a race in which the champion Calandagan (double group I winner) had finished 2nd behind City Of Troy last year. Trained by Francis Graffard, the prince’s colt is seriously considered for this group I, which is the flagship event of the Ebor meeting in York, in the north of England. The director at Cantilian said: "We will see how he continues to progress and based on that, we will be fixed, but we are leaning more, indeed, for group I in York (on August 20) for Daryz." On the other hand, Sunly, who is engaged in the Yorkshire Oaks (Gr. I - 2,400 meters), on the occasion of the same meeting, will not be present, because she has experienced a health issue. |

I can understand the decision taken by connections of Calandagan post King George's triumph. The Juddmonte could come too soon, and is over 10f (not 12f). I hope Daryz runs. He's touted as a possible serious Arc contender. |

He’d be a fascinating contender if he did show up at York. He’s still left in the Group 2 at Deauville after the first forfeit stage….

They may be thinking that the long straight at York might be more to his liking than the short one at Deauville. They also want a good surface for him.
As Calandagan was beaten by a fellow runner in this, he has a line into what’s needed and that they are seriously considering (news from the weekend) is a sign of the regard that they hold him in. |

I hope he turns up too otherwise my interest in the race is virtually zero. As a matter of fact if Rosallion is an absentee like FoG at the York meeting my interest will be zero until The Leger.

Daryz faces crucial gallop Last Updated: Mon 11 Aug 2025 Unbeaten French colt Daryz faces a crucial workout on Thursday as connections ponder whether to take on the challenge of next week’s Juddmonte International at York. The Sea The Stars colt has won each of his four starts to date, most recently impressing in the Group Two Prix Eugene Adam at Saint-Cloud in late June. Trainer Francis-Henri Graffard saddled Calandagan to finish a close second to City Of Troy in the Juddmonte International 12 months ago and Daryz could bid to go one better on the Knavesmire. Nemone Routh, racing manager for owners the Aga Khan Studs in France, said: “He won’t run in the Prix Guillaume d’Ornano this weekend, that’s for sure. “We’re going to work him on Thursday and then make a decision about whether he goes to York or whether we run him next in the Prix Niel and follow a more traditional route towards the Arc, so we’ll see what he does on Thursday and make that decision then. “He’s in good shape, we just want to be 100 per cent sure that we’re making the right call because it’s going to be a big ask going to York and we just want to see that last piece of work and make sure we’re making the right decision. “By Thursday we’ll know a bit more about the field and the ground. The horse is in great form, but it’s going to be a big step for him so we’ll work him on Thursday, Mickael (Barzalona) will ride him, and we’ll make a decision then.” |

Daryz tipped up for this in the Post today was taken out of the PRIX GUILLAUME D'ORNANO this morning leaving 9, including the Prix du Jockey Club second CUALIFICAR for Godolphin.
Ruling Court was meant to be also running for Godolphin but is a NO show. AOB has Mount Kilimanjaro. |

The big 3 are Delacroix (13/8), Ombudsman (9/4) and Danon Decile (4/1). I think Delacroix will confirm placing with Ombudsman given his near impossible position and win; Danon Decile has good form but over 12f.
Little value for Delacroix. As such, a watching brief. |

The tipster on the post feels that the course helped Delacroix and that he expects form to be reversed. The majority of Ombudsman’s run I’ve seen were right handed. Will he be as efficient or effective this way round?

This was a quote that I’d found that was made after he’d won going mile and a half right handed.
Tosaki said: "When I rode him for the first time in training I thought he was a high-level horse. On the track I got an even better feeling as he started well and got the position near the front, so we weren't trapped on the inside. His position and rhythm were good. "He still has a lot of potential and I think he will improve further after winning this." Trainer Shogo Yasuda added: "This time it was a race where results were required and winning was the premise. There was a moment when he seemed to lose his balance at the last corner and I feel like he's still young. He's growing physically but I want him to grow up mentally. Assuming the nature of York is not a hindrance and conducive ground for both Ombudsman and Delacroix I still believe the latter will confirm placing. Also, I read in another quarter Ombudsman was reckoned to have hit the front a bit too soon. Nevertheless, the win by Delacroix was a near impossibility at one point.
What possible concern does Mr Gosden have prior to the race? His horse will not be ridden by Mr Keane of Ireland. |

If 2000m and left-handed is right up his street, according to the trainer of Danon Decile then York is ideal for him. As Delacroix and Ombudsman are closely matched Danon Decile could steal the glory from these two principals. If so, he'd have a big say for The Arc at Longchamp 1st week of October.

He’s 3 from 6 going right handed, 2 from 3 going left. Those two wins being his biggest wins - the Derby and Sheema Classic.

The Arc isn’t his aim impossible he was taken out, he’ll return for the Japan cup. Which ties into a concern I have
regarding the trainer. I’ve said elsewhere that I don’t trust the Eclipse form. |

Danon Decile Worked this morning at Newmarket
Danon Decile, who will contest the G1 Juddmonte International Stakes at York on August 20th, emerged on Newmarket's public training grounds just before 7:00 a.m. local time on August 12th, in a temperature of 17 degrees Celsius. "The important thing is being able to sense his condition day by day," said his trainer when speaking about the horse's progress so far. For the second consecutive day, Yasuda himself (the trainer) climbed aboard and guided his charge up Warren Hill (an uphill polytrack gallop) at a lively canter, smiling as they reached the top. Danon Decile is scheduled to have his final serious workout one week out on August 13th on the (flat) Al Bahathri gallop, also part of Newmarket's training grounds. Looked good in the photo which I’d post if I knew how!  |

So the plot thickens, Daryz has been given the green light and Godolphin are putting in Birr Castle as a pacemaker.

There was still some uncertainty about Daryz’s participation in the Juddmonte International Stakes (Gr.I), on August 20th at York. Thursday morning, Nemone Routh, the racing manager of the Aga Khan stable, confirmed us the participation of the foal in this event which promises to be very challenging. The unbeaten in four outings will take part in his first Group 1, and will face the horses of age for the first time. “We are going to go to York. We are very satisfied with his preparation. He worked this morning with Mickael Barzalona, along with Surabad and Sibayan. Francis-Henri Graffard found him in great shape. Obviously, it is a great challenge to go into such an event. But Daryz will evolve on his distance and probably have his field. Maybe it happens a little early at this stage of his career? But we decided to try our luck. Zarigana could resort to it before her big goal announced during the Arc weekend, the Prix de la Forêt (Gr.I) «We don’t rule out going on the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp before the Prix de la Forêt,» adds Nemone Routh. It is she who will decide! Francis was a little disappointed when she returned from her rest period, but she is very well now. She is a filly who gets ready quickly, she doesn’t need much work. She rises quickly in pressure.

Zarigana does not have a willing winning mentality. I'd not back her until she wins regularly and accordingly.
I think Lambourn and Whirl are there in case Delacroix is a late absentee; Lambourn cannot win The Juddmonte on a line thro' Delacroix. Similarly, Whirl who needs further too. And, LA is running at York (I think). |

LA is running in a soft race at The Curragh on saturday; Italy is in The Acomb at York next week, the same race that The Lion In Winter ran and won last season.

Even then the entity could pull a fast one eg a switcheroo of tactic. Looks like one is being done here, more lies about where horses are being targeted? He’s mentioned that Delacroix has won twice @ Leopardstown this year and Smads & Joes have been shortest on Whirl all along! If the switcheroo does happen someone needs to ask why the porkies! |
