Could be a very good race if they all turn up, 3/1 the field now, Galileo Chrome still shortening up, must have been pleasing Joseph at home.

“We haven't fully made up our minds about where Galileo Chrome goes next but it's 60-40 that he goes for the St Leger at Doncaster,” O’Brien said on Monday.
“He has other options like the Irish St Leger and France the week afterwards but we're seriously considering Doncaster. “He looked very good at Navan. Shane [Crosse] gave him a lovely, patient and confident ride and he won very well. He won in the style of a horse who has earned a crack at a step up in class. The hope would be that, wherever he goes next, Shane will ride him.” “You need a good horse to win a St Leger and you need to stay," O'Brien explained. I still don't think Tiger Moth will run personally - or will maybe only run if something goes amiss with Santiago.
I think O'Brien expressed reservations over his stamina. His pedigree supports those reservations (siblings won over 6f and 1m and his half brother won over 5f). You can obviously argue conversely that he's already finished 2nd beaten only a head in a Group 1 over 12f.I think the other race AOB nominated for him is Leopardstown G3, 5.15pm on Saturday. AOB left Norway in the St Leger at this stage last season and he ran in and won the same Leopardstown race instead. Also, where has Tiger Moth been since the Irish Derby? Of course, I'm no more successful than anyone else at second guessing the intentions of this outfit.  |

At the moment AOB is intending to run 3 ie Santiago, Dawn Patrol and Mythical; Tiger Moth is heading either to an Irish race or France with Serpentine. Dettori has been booked, Kirby could be too.
If so, Dettori most likely on Santiago which would mean a new jockey for English King or the horse is France bound the following day. |

English King was matched at 34 here. If so, Dettori can ride both Santiago (here) and him (Grand Prix de Paris) and also Stradivarius (Prix Foy) the following day.

12 have been declared including the main protagonists eg Santiago, Pyledriver and Hukum; Galileo Chrome and English King too with Marquand on board the latter. Dettori is riding at Donny, and probably will be confirmed for Santiago.

English King is still declared for the French race on sunday. The ground is good for here and France.

Unbelievable! Why declared it yesterday when France was the preferred choice? The ground on both tracks is good. I think it reflects the immaturity, indecisiveness and insecurity of his trainer; just choose the most appropriate race for the horse.
And now, connections are trying to book Dettori. I hope AOB has already secured his service for Serpentine. |

Shane Crosse the pilot of Galileo Chrome who's been well-backed last few days has tested positive for Covid and will now miss the race and the Irish Champion Festival.

I'll probably 'lay' Galileo Chrome for a place at 1.92; Santiago at 1.75 a definite back, I believe.

Backed Pyledriver after the Voltigeur at 8.2 and subsequently layed 4.2. So all green but Pyledriver is best for me. See Santiago as the main danger so may get involved in the place only market.

I thought the Voltigeur fell apart around Pyledriver. The time was pretty ordinary. Not that it was a pace collapse, but I have his main opposition not running to their best. He did do a fair time when winning the King Edward Vii but that still leaves him short of winning an average Leger. The way he won last time he may be capable of more but I'll pass on him. Possibly one or two others may improve also, but for me the only horse who has already run fast enough to win an average Leger is Santiago. He hasn't had chance to show what kind of current form he is in but at the price I'll take the risk.

Galileo Chrome is 1.96 to 'lay' for a place; Pyledriver is 1.94 against Hukum. A double prospect.

A good race to watch. I think the winner Galileo Chrome will be a Gold Cup horse next season. He the 1st to come under pressure and outstayed the others; Pyledriver ran very well but probably did not stay the last 1f, I think.
