Hugely frustrating on the face of it,would be very easy to cry wolf. Royal Residence was 280 bfsp ..... that would have beaten my biggest ever winner pre race,and some. Sticking up 4 might seem a scattergun approach,I took the opinion the ground was much softer than anticipated,and there was a minimal draw bias from what had happened earlier on card,all 4 looked overpriced in a very open market. Obviously it failed on the day in win terms,hopefully that strategy will pay its way long term. Certainly from Goodwood onwards,much more like it in terms of contending. Despite a healthy deficit,I do feel I have been putting the work in,that for me is always the bottom line,the one thing that really annoys me is missing the obvious.That can be anything from a form-line,headgear,draw bias etc,etc...... As we both know,there really are no shortcuts. Your having a tremendous season,well deserved,keep it going  |
