have backed capri here at 20/1 ish on here and somehow got a tenner on sportsbook at 20s , this race has a nice shape to it ,a hot fav with loads of wins next to its name taking a big chunk out of the market . capri is stepping up massively in distance and we have no way of knowing if he will stay but given his breeding and connections whos to say he wont improve for the step up . has loads of group1 form and has beaten the fav in the leger and finished about 4l behind enable in an arc he is too big a price imo . also having a saver on kew gardens but will wait till nearer the day . selection capri gold cup around 20s on here 16s shops win bet .

This is Ascot remember.. It will need to be raining all through early next week for the ground to be even approaching soft by Gold Cup Day.. I am not seeing that on the forecast

Sandown has their ground being good at the moment, but precipitation right thro' to the weekend and beyond. I think we'd see soft description come middle of next week if the forecast is accurate.
So, who are the easy ground performers?

As far as I'm aware Royal Ascot is n't run at Sandown...
I caught part of an interview with a course official (not sure which one) on Sky Sports News this morning - he said the rain they had yesterday was no more than would have been applied artificially anyway and there had been negligible rain today up until the point when the interview took place.
Please refer to JWH's post above.
As far as the Gold Cup is concerned Southern France will go very close as long as Aidan does n't run him in the Hardwicke!

Apologies, I clearly was n't listening properly so should correct my misinformation above!
From Turftrax latest update:
50mm rain since midday Sunday to Tuesday morning, dry since then to 1.30pm Tuesday. 65mm rain past 7 days. Mainly dry with a possible occasional shower today, Wednesday and Thursday are forecast to be showery with longer spells of rain possible at times 11-15mm possible. Showers possible Saturday, then the low pressure system is forecast to clear to bring warmer conditions with possible occasional showers through the next week.
I still expect it to dry out if the forecast is correct (big if).
It still won't be run at Sandown
I still like Southern France (both in the Gold Cup and as an option to get away from this dreadful weather!)

ok i know he does not fit the trends but the difference in price between thomas hobson and stradivarious is too big imo ,one of the few guaranteed to stay every yard and has not got a lot to find with the fav on earlier running ,btn under 2 ls despite not having the clearest of runs over 2m ,has won at the meeting and usually runs his race looks decent value imo around 20s or better .had some 38s and 40s on here earlier .
selection thomas hobson gold cup win and place 20s or better . already advised capri 20s .
