Plenty of study next couple weeks as the mecca looms,looks very open in the main,holding fire at present after last years ground debacle, I wonder if it will go the other way and be on the soft side day 1? All mine will be on the day GI......just been looking back at last years thread,think your due a good one.
Always think its important to try and get on the board early,3 seconds here on day 1 last year beaten neck,neck and half a length. The other factor for me is tote pool betting,massive pools placepot/exacta etc....for relative small stakes. More than happy to join in thoughts on h,caps etc GI/Sint,do not want to clog this thread,might be worth opening a new one up here?,as the chelt site will go into overdrive nearer the time. |

Aye, last year was a festival to forget for me Noc! I'm still gutted about McCoy getting Taquin Du Seuil up to nab JP's Uxizandre at the post  I'm a big PlacePot player also, put a good bit of effort and money into them. Me and a mate always work on one for each day, and pull our stake money together instead of two seperate ones, Its worth a decent investment. Happy to talk hcps too. |

Harsh lesson for me on the friday last year,stuck 3 up an the a/p thread inc Montbazon in the county, who finnished 3rd,left him out of the pot,you can guess the rest.It was the biggest payout of the year by far,10 pence line was worth £4,400,gutted to say the least!
Looked at the h,cap entries briefly,think they will be really compressed this year,need the weights and how they assess the irish horses,mid 130,s at least for some of the bigger races I would think.Plenty of time for the cheltenham conundrum to unravel. |

indeed, that compressed trend was emerging prominently last year in a few hcps, maybe more so this year. There was an interesting article in Paul Jones book about the hcps, where the classy top weights were winning/placing last year, as opposed to old style lightly weighted runners who were plotted up.
