Just got my 5 lists on. 4 for the season and one for May. I've a feeling that the overall 1st prize will be very poor indeed.
By:
Done and dusted with our entries last night. Here's hoping!
By:
Also targeted a couple of lists at May prize.
By:
No may prizes if you haven't got Night Of Thunder, and no main prizes either if you haven't got him in your lists.
By:
Still in with a shout though if you had him as your Star Horse. Only paid 23 on the Tote when winning at 40s though.
By:
96 points from the 60th most popular horse
By:
That would seem to be a serious (but not fatal) blow to the majority of lists on day one. That's why the competition should start with the Oaks/Derby.

275 people would disagree

Now then...relying on Miss France and Bracelet tomorrow to continue the good start. The former is being backed.
By:
No sign of any 40/1 Classic Winners in my lists.

Not many in mine!

Can anyone access the TTF website at the moment...been having difficulties for a while.
By:
Same Kingman did not hang on yeat in the 2000gn or it would have been a gd start for 1 of my 2 lits with Miss France winning 2day.
By:
Managed to get a list with Night Of Thunder, Kingman and Miss France and with Magician to come tomorrow, so it could be a decent start. Trouble is, it (almost) effectively makes us reliant on that one lists out of all our entries, but you never know, as there are plenty of bonus races to come.
If Night Of Thunder follows up again (esp. in a bonus race), then it could be tricky to haul back lists with him in them. |
By:
Could not have included night of thunder myself on that greenham run with the mind of him winning the 2000gns. Suppose if I had put multi lists in (50+) I would prob had him in 1or2 as he looked a smart 3yo in the making, but the trial made him look no more than a G2 horse for this year, but there we are, he is now a Gns winner & turn the form round by 5Ls on Kingman. Now looks a very smart miler. Look forward to their next meeting.

Nothing much in either Guineas here, but had Australia and Taghrooda in 2 lists aimed at the season (as well as my one May list). Many of my horses would be aimed at Royal Ascot, so still some hope.

That was closer than I would have liked for Magician!
By:
you know the night you put the Thunder in Joci did you put him in place of Australia
By:
Not sure if I specifically replaced Australia. I had another potential Derby contender in the list in the shape of Kingston Hill, but can't be sure.
Only put Australia in 50% of our lists overall. |

Very poor....comp dying a slow death.
By:
Unfortunately so. Seem to remember a £1m pot when Lamtarra was winning his derby. But the comp was fresh then.
In my opinion they would do better promoting the comp after the buzz of the guineas gets everyone excited with the flat and allow players to aim at the Derby/Oaks after seeing how the May trials pan out. Guessing which juvenile horses to follow in April might be fun for some (hey, I've spent a lot of time delving into dosage theory myself) but it doesn't necessarily motivate the average punter, especially when there is the scent of a giant scoop 6 wafting around. If they delayed the flat comp until June they could actually end the jumps with Punchestown. I don't think the tote care that much though. |

Poor prizes.

Poor prizes. Sad
I suppose the other side of that coin is less competition? |
By:
Not too much damage done at York.
Lockinge this weekend. Nice to get the winner of that! |
By:
I've only got hopes of monthly prizes now I'm pretty sure.
By:
I'm so sure that I said that twice.

2nd place JOCI - nice one.
By:
Go on JOCI.

Nice to be in contention.
We need War Command to find his form again in the Irish 2000G next weekend, and Magician to win the Tattersalls, then a few other things to go our way to be in with a chance of the May prize. |
By:
I was just looking at the leading entries, JOCI. The leader has Magician too. But War Command is all yours. I'll be cheering him on.
By:
The one in 5th has Leading Light and Magician, so looks more competition than 3rd and 4th.
By:
Cirrus Des Aigles versus Olympic Glory on Sunday adds a new dynamic to the race for the May prize!
By:
Must feel strange JOCI knowing if one of your selections wins it could cost you £5,0000.
Maarek could cost you too |
By:
£5,000
By:
Big bonus for you olympic glory running again, shame the 2nd bloke has cirrus too.
By:
duffy..who knows...last time I looked neither above us has OG but one had CDA...but not sure either had Kingman and/or War Command. Lots of things could happen including something coming out of left field.

JOCI....1/25 to collect the monthly
