Here's my attack on the Drinmore from the stats / trends angle.
Horses aged 6 or 7 have won 8 of last 10 runnings, including the last 6 10 of 10 winners won last time out 9 of 10 winners posted their highest RPR over fences last time out 10 of 10 winners had run since 23rd October 8 of 10 winners had last start at Galway, Navan or Punchestown 10 of 10 winners finished in first 2 on all completed chase starts that season 10 of 10 winners had run 1 or 2 times that season 8 of 10 winners had run in 1 or 2 chases prior to this (2 exceptions had run in 3 and 4) 10 of 10 winners had won over 2M 4F+ 6 of 10 winners had won a graded hurdle (2 exception finished in first 3 in a grade 1 hurdle & other 2 were unbeaten in completed hurdles starts) 8 of 10 winners had run in no more than 6 hurdles 6 of 10 winners had won or placed at Fairyhouse (other 4 were having first course start) 9 of 10 winners came from the first 2 in the betting No winner has gone off higher than 6/1 in the last 10 years
Taking these trends in to consideration and applying them to the field, weighted for the 'importance' of each trend, gives the following ranking.
