had an E/W bet on Calgary Bay @33s.
After looking again see he's entered @Donny Sat.
Anyone Know the no 1 choice.
Ran well in this race last year and better at the
weights with GE for 6L defeat(11lbs),normally goes
well here aswell.Hope he shows can see him running
well if his jumping holds up.Should strip alot fitter
too.

I was liking the chances of Cape Tribulation but cant see him running with ground conditions looking like they could now be on the fast side of good (was pulled out of the Paddy Power for ground concerns) - therefore taking a bit of a punt on the top weight each way at 25/1 who should be much more at home on this surface and has course winning form - the trip is the unknown but this is meant to be the less testing of the two courses?

If he hadnt ran in The Hennessy then i"d agree. Surely 3 runs in top handicaps within a month will take its toll? If he wins this then he"s a serious animal.

I am working on this race now and it looks eminently sortable.
I am asking myself whether the lightly weighted runners are gonna come to the fore here or whether the classy top weights will be favoured. Down at the bottom, I like Havinggotascoobydoo who was second over shorter at the track. He will be out of the weights if Woolcombe Folly runs and is also entered in the Jenny Mould race at 2 miles. Divers and Quantitative Easing were placed behind Great Endeavour and might be up to it. Great Endeavour himself will be difficult to beat if running to his Paddy Power form. Apolo80- Not sure about this being a weak race? With Ghizao, Medermit & Quel Esprit running this looks a better race than the PPGC.

Divers on good ground, 9-1 with Skybet at teh mo, not sure whether to take that ,or wait given the strength of Saturday morning markets these days...

3 of the last 4 winners of this race ran in the PP, so on that basis Calgary Bay would have a chance. Trainer described him as very fit prior to his last run, though. She seems wary about the ground aswell based on her website quotes.
At 33/1 he is worth a few quid eachway on Saturday if he runs imo. |

I did look at Salut Flo
but my attitude is always one of "well if that wins then I take it on the chin" because to back that is a guess unless there is massive market support by which time the price has gone |

Strictly on a reading of his two runs for Pipe last year he's fairly well in imo. The Haydock race has worked out very well since
Pipe has previous of getting them back after a long layoff, he nearly scored with Vodka Bleu who was off for a couple of years in the Paddy Power, and he was just unlucky to run into what became a ridiculously well in Exotic Dancer for example I have negatives over most of the field here tbh. Ok Salut's layoff a concern in itself but if there's one trainer i'd have to get him in tip top shape for this, it'd be David Pipe |

Cape Tribulation for me - ran well over hurdles of biggish weight last time out which should have put him spot on.

surprised A P has chosen sunnyhillboy as he is always prone to mistakes, well handicapped with G E on course form 2 seasons ago but i think Quantitive has the better chance possibly the going decided his choice

Calgary Bay added ew to join Woolcombe Folly at 33/1 now he's made the 48 hr decs. Simply too big in price relation to last years form with Sunnyhill Boy

had a few quid now on CB also, NRNB. He was beaten 38 lengths last time out so clearly needs to improve, and trainer is on record as saying he was ''very fit'' for that run, but if that was a bit of spin and more like a prep for this race where he was 4th last year then he may make the frame again.
