WITH Frankel looking more likely to miss the Derby with each passing interview, Ladbrokes inserted the highest ever rated 2,000 Guineas winner as a 1-3 shot for the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.
They also go 2-1 "with a run" for the Derby, for which he was trading at 10-1 on Betfair. Ladbrokes also make the son of Galileo just 2-1 to win any race at the Breeders' Cup and 3-1 to race on at four.
David Williams of Ladbrokes said: "Racing is clamouring to find out when we might next see Frankel and we're keen to offer prices on a host of scenarios."
Totesport eased Frankel to 3-1 (from 9-4) for the Derby and cut stablemate World Domination to 5-1 (from 6) for the same race. They also cut Carlton House to 11-2 (from 6). The pair are set to take each other on in the Dante Stakes at York on May 12.
"There is still a possibility that Frankel will line up at Epsom though this could be a forlorn hope if any of Khalid Abdullah's other Derby possibles impress in their trial runs over the next week or so," said totesport spokesman George Primarolo.
You'd have to be pretty pssed off if you took 2/1 to win any BC race and he ended up in the Classic.
thought about him for that but was looking for something over 10/1.

What is going to line up against him at Ascot? The 1/3 looks about right to me - probably shorter on the day. What exactly is a re-run of the Guineas going to do to add to his reputation?
After that what? If he takes on the older milers (and I rather doubt Goldikova will be coming over so "early" in her season) again what does that prove? Canford Cliffs is an admirable horse but who would honestly rank him in the top 5 milers of the last decade.
Whichever way you look at it Frankel will have to be stepped up in trip but once again exactly what will he be lining up against over 10f in the autumn? I doubt there will be anything in the opposition that enhances his reputation and after all with his breeding who exactly is going to be surprised or impressed that he stays 10f?
Khalid Abdullah is a great supporter of the game. He is sufficiently wealthy to be able to take a minor hit if his horse is beaten over 12f (after all many on here would contend that staying 12f is a positive disincentive for breeding purposes). Right now he has on his hands potentially the best horse he will ever own, and that's really saying something. To qualify as a true great (IMHO), as opposed to a great miler, he will have to either win the Breeders or the Arc, anything less will be an anti-climax.
Maybe the plan all along has been to honour Bobby Frankel by winning at the Breeders, in which case it will have been a long and somewhat lop-sided season. That I could understand but just keeping him to a mile at Ascot and then a couple of uncompetitive 10f Group 1's to preserve his unbeaten run would be unworthy of the owner, trainer or horse. I would understand the wholly business orientated Coolmore operation following this route but would hope for something more "sporting" from KA & co.

Nowheee else for him to run is there? Can't see Richard Fahey sending Wooten Bassett after what he did to the opposition in the Guineas he'll most likely find a race he can win in France or somehwere out of Frankel way.
When you are as good as this horse people will avoid you and mark my words he'll be 1/7 or less on the day.

FRANKEL will win the St James Palace Stakes however he wants to win it.
He will be held up next time, believe me and he'll make his move turning for home.
It will be all over in 3 strides, believe me!

I'm glad to know he will be held up in the St James.
Cause if he runs like he did in the Guineas Quelly wont be able to stop him from carrying straight onto the straight course and smashing into the near side rails.

Ilikewavingatbuses - listen to me you muppet. I know the horse a lot more than you do. I have followed him since his debut and hammered him 4 times.
Tom will hold him up in up in 3rd or 4th, he will take off entering the straight and it will be all over.
Just like it was the second Essexguy laid me a bit Frankel for the Guineas :-)

Essexguy - you were on here giving it the large and I won your money.
You really didn't understand how good this horse was, I told you but you didn't listen you wally.
I even backed him to win by over a certain amount of lengths. I was SUPER confident.
Essexguy - you were thought of as a good tipster on here but when I come along I really did a Frankel on you lol.
I beat you. ;-)

I generally bet between £20 to £1,000 so basically that means most bookies thanks.
I bet bigger on Group 1 races because I have my own method and happy with it.

mayweather, i used to bet with bookmakers but now i have to go to a number of shops to get a decent antipost bet on. I can only place antipost bets over the phone or on the internet with one bookmaker, all the others dont want to know me. they have basically said they dont want my bussiness.WHY you may ask? Think about it.

Essexguy - I must be pretty clever and on the ball because I did tell you Big Bucks and Frankel would win while you were telling me they won't.
Essexguy - skills pays the bills and I am the man with the minerals, unlike you muppet boy.

Henry Cecil. Impressive Newbury maiden winner World Domination will put his Derby credentials to the test when he lines up in the Dante Stakes on Thursday.
The son of Empire Maker faces a big step up in grade but he has always been highly regarded by his trainer and he is hopeful of a good run.
Cecil said: Cecil said: “World Domination was off for four days and missed a serious piece of work. However, if he is going to be a Derby candidate he must run in the Dante and then we will see if he is Epsom material - or, otherwise, maybe Royal Ascot.
“If he can run a really good race, win or lose, I am sure he will come on a great deal for it as he has only had one race and never ran as a two-year-old.”
Oaks hope Arizona Jewel could run in the Musidora Stakes on Wednesday following her stylish win in a Sandown maiden last month.
Cecil said of the Dansili filly: “Arizona Jewel will hopefully run in the Musidora Stakes. We shall see if she is up to Oaks thoughts - or the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot.”
Warren Place are hoping to be double-handed in the Group 2 Middleton Stakes with both Midday and Timepiece coming under consideration.
Midday finished second in the race last year and will again be burdened with a penalty for her Group 1 victories.
Cecil added: “Midday and Timepiece may both come out in the Middleton Stakes as a start to a long and hopefully successful season for them both.”
Native Ruler ran a tremendous race in the Jockey Club Stakes going down by just a nose to Dandino after 21 months off the track. The son of Cape Cross is a possible for the Yorkshire Cup next Friday.
Cecil said: “I may run Natural Ruler in the Yorkshire Cup. He ran a great race at Newmarket after a 21 month layoff following a tendon transplant.
“In general it has been a difficult season for many horses as the lack of rain has meant we haven’t been able to run many horses for fear of jarring them up and ruining their chances for the rest of the season

If Frankel is 1/3 in the St James Palace I'll be looking for others. Twenty years ago that race was a match between Rodrigo de Triano and Arazi. They finished 4th and 5th.

Oh dear Kincsem. Have you learnt nothing! Never mind - you'll tell us your laying him and then, when he wins by 20 lengths, you'll tell us you didnt in the end.

Sintonion - I only had £40 on Frankel at 25/1 and 10/1 for the Derby you wally. After winning £4000 at Cheltenham, £700 on the Grand National and £1000 in the Guineas i'm not too bothered about £40 am I, especially when I am on a couple of good things for the Derby at big prices.

So Imperial Commander won't be running in the St James 's Palace stakes and Kermit the Frog won't be riding?
I guess Frankel will tighten up in the betting now
