RED CADEAUX is likely to bid for compensation for a narrow defeat on his last start in Saturday's £70,000 Betfred Kingspin Old Borough Cup at Haydock.
RELATED LINKS Old Borough Cup race card Ronnie Arculli's four-year-old won a hot handicap at Lingfield earlier in the year and looked a little unlucky not to add to his seasonal tally when chasing Lady Eclair home at Chester on August 21. Unlike stablemate Snow Fairy, Red Cadeaux excels on soft ground and trainer Ed Dunlop is hoping that the heavy rain forecast for Friday materialises. Quoted on his website, Dunlop said: "He was always wider than we would have liked at Chester, but it was still a smashing effort running an in-form mare so close. "He loves soft ground and it is on the easy side up there now. While they are predicting dry weather until Thursday, they are then expecting 10mm of rain on Friday." |

I thought Michael Hills could have been a little stronger in the saddle lto, tbh. Should have won imo.

Agree with you Ben Kansai too big at 14/1 with Betthreepence still 14s cut with other, should go on ground and open to further improvement.
Also Maxim Gorky needs a good few to get a run? So have risked a few sheckles at 14s e/w may pay for my w-end away up-coming with my baby!! |

Dangerous to read too much into mid-week form but Gosden has had a lot of winners today.

KS
Now into 10 at Sid James |

I've missed the boat here. Front 2 in the market won't get a run, ground should dry up too much for Red Cadeux and Buick is booked for another on the card so it looks at though Kansai will turn up. 10's should be 5's on the day with a bit of luck. Those 14's should have a decent bet. Racing style will suit Haydock, stable bang in form and will stay. Form last time not too good however. 1pt e/w @ 10's.

if mount athos turns up it will have a great chance imo

Now into 8 at Sid James |
|
By:
Lets hope he turns up.
|
|
By:
I'm on board with KS too, ground drying up around here and no chance of rain before Saturday. I expect he'll go off about 4s
|
|
By:
Fortuni won't turn up. Mount Athos could get a run if declared. Lets hope he's declared and is also drawn lowish.

Slashed into 11/2 with Sid James |

agreed hills was very weak on red cadeaux last time. too busyt whipping it instead of pushing it and galvanising it. would have won with fallon or moore on board

I'm liking the look of Ajaan. Think he could well give the weight away.

No 3yo's in race this year (won 5 of 9 Borough races and would have been 6 with abandoned race 2008 - The Betchworth Kid)
Red Cadeaux is a bridesmaid. Would never get past Lady Eclair at Chester when suited by most conditions that day. They haven't found its ideal distance yet,if it has one, but it looks like 12f. The clues to this race are in the distance and previous track runs although its pretty open this year. An exceptional mare who only started racing this season at 4yrs of age. Another mare who couldn't win as 2yo but has improved with distance this year. Also a 4yo recent maiden winner and gone on to win again. |
|
By:
Good luck all on Kansai who are on,away for weekend with bambino, lets hope he does business!!
|
|
By:
Fancy Lady Eclair can go in again. She's a real battler.
|
|
By:
I've backed Cotillion in this ...
|
|
By:
I've just gone through it and think Cotillion's the one. Good form on flat left handed tracks and well in compared to the rating of the horse who beat him in a Chepstow maiden and the horse who finished 4th beaten 2 lengths.

Further reduction to 9/2 @ Sid James. |

After a dry night, clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright said: "We have a dry, warm day forecast. The going on the five and six furlong course is good to firm, while over a mile or greater the going is good, good to soft in places."
|
|
By:
Top tipping this. All it has to do is win now!
I find it almost impossible to believe there could be any soft in the going description the week we have had up here. |
|
By:
just off to the track now, CCM, never assume anything where Kirkland is involved. To be honest I realy cant see KS getting beat unless he has turned the taps on overnight
